I found this recipe YEARS ago and it’s become a thanksgiving/Christmas tradition. This recipe is super simple and delicious!
You will need:
1 pack of premade sugar cookie (or any other kind of cookies you like!)
1 8oz block of cream cheese
1 8oz tub of cool whip
Sugar (measure with your ❤️)
Mini cupcake/muffin wrappers (trust me!)
Mini muffin pan or regular size (it doesn’t matter)
Tooth pick or shot glass
Sugar sprinkles (optional)
Baking:
Put cookies in wrapper and bake for 8 minutes on 350. Take out and set aside and let cool.
Filling:
Mix sugar, cool whip, and cream cheese into a mixing bowl.
Once the cookies are cooled, use a tooth pick or shot glass (with some form of oil on it) to press down the middle of the cookies. Fill the center with filling to desired amount. Serve immediately or put in fridge for later. Enjoy!❤️

... Read moreI remember stumbling upon this 'Little Bites of Heaven' recipe years ago, and honestly, it was a game-changer for my holiday baking! What I love most is how incredibly simple yet impressive these treats are, making them a staple for Thanksgiving and Christmas at my house. But don't limit them to just holidays – they're perfect for any potluck, party, or just when you need a little sweet pick-me-up.
One of the secrets to their success is the versatility of the ingredients. While the recipe calls for a simple package of premade sugar cookies, I've experimented with different kinds. Chocolate chip cookies can add a delightful twist, or even snickerdoodle cookies for a warm, spiced flavor. Just make sure they're the kind that can hold their shape well after baking. And trust me on using those mini muffin pan with liners – they make baking and serving so much easier, plus cleanup is a breeze!
When it comes to the filling, the combination of cream cheese and whipped topping (Cool Whip) is pure magic. For the best, most decadent results, I always go for full-fat cream cheese, but if you're looking for a lighter option, reduced-fat works too. The Cool Whip is key for that light, airy texture and stability; it holds up much better than homemade whipped cream if you're making these ahead of time. And about the sugar – yes, 'measure with your heart' is fun, but if you need a starting point, I usually begin with about 1/4 to 1/2 cup, tasting as I go until it's just right for my sweet tooth.
After baking the cookies in the muffin pan, letting them cool completely is crucial. This prevents them from crumbling when you press down the center. For creating that perfect little well, a shot glass is my go-to tool, especially if I lightly oil the bottom – it makes a clean impression every time. Some friends even use the back of a small spoon. Just be gentle!
Now for the fun part: filling and decorating! Once the cookie bases are ready, spoon or pipe your creamy filling into each one. This is where you can get creative. While the classic white whipped cream filling is delicious, sometimes I add a tiny drop of vanilla extract or even a hint of almond extract to the mixture for an extra layer of flavor. For holidays, I love topping my finished 'Little Bites of Heaven' with festive red sprinkles, like the ones you see in the photo, or green sprinkles for Christmas. For a spring gathering, pastel sprinkles or lemon zest would be lovely. You could also sprinkle on some mini chocolate chips, cocoa powder, or even a fresh raspberry or blueberry for a burst of color and flavor. Imagine a few chocolate shavings on top – divine!
These treats are fantastic served immediately, but they also hold up beautifully in the fridge. I often make them a day in advance, storing them in an airtight container, and they’re still perfect for serving. When I present them, I like arranging them on a pretty platter or a decorative mat, especially for guests. They always disappear fast! So, next time you're looking for an easy, crowd-pleasing dessert that feels a bit special, give these 'Little Bites of Heaven' a try. You won't regret it!
