✨I deleted my socials from my phone✨

Soooo I deleted all my social media from my phone and converted them to my Mac book. 😩🙌🏽I did this because I was sooo tired of mindlessly scrolling through all of my apps and wasting my day.

Obviously I am not gonna sit in my mac book all day so this is a great start to change 🫢

I felt like I wasn’t living or enjoying my life and now that I have I found myself doing more things and being less lazy😩🥰

I fr feel FREE!!☁️🌤️

P.S I dont count this app as social media because no one knows me here and I feel inclined to be myself to random strangers🌸🫶🏾🥹

... Read moreIt started subtly, a quick check turning into an hour, then several. Before I knew it, my days felt like a blur of endless feeds – Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, YouTube, Facebook… they all blended into one giant time-sink. I’d pick up my phone for ‘just a second’ and suddenly an hour had vanished. That feeling of constantly being tethered to my screen, comparing my life to others, or just passively consuming content, slowly started to chip away at my joy and productivity. I realized I was spending more time watching others live their lives than actually living my own. This wasn’t just about wasting time; it was about losing connection with myself and my surroundings. The constant stream of curated perfection often left me feeling inadequate, even though I knew rationally it wasn't real. The decision to hit that uninstall button wasn't impulsive; it was a slow burn of frustration. I saw the vibrant world outside my window, the books gathering dust on my shelf, the hobbies I once loved, and felt a pang of regret. My phone, once a tool for connection, had become a distraction from real life. Deleting those apps from my phone felt like taking a deep, cleansing breath. It was a conscious choice to reclaim my mental space and my precious time. The difference was almost immediate. Initially, it felt strange. There was a phantom limb sensation, reaching for my phone out of habit, only to find the familiar app icons gone. But that initial discomfort quickly morphed into something empowering. With the constant pings and notifications removed, my brain started to quiet down. I wasn't constantly anticipating the next like or comment. This newfound silence allowed me to actually think and feel without immediate digital interruption. My anxiety, which I hadn't even realized was being fueled by constant updates, began to subside. I started to notice things again. The sunlight streaming through my window, the taste of my morning coffee, the little details of my neighborhood. Instead of scrolling through endless reels, I found myself picking up that dusty book, going for walks, or even just sitting quietly with my thoughts. The 'lazy' feeling started to evaporate, replaced by a surge of curious energy. I wasn't just doing more things; I was engaging with them more fully. My creativity felt reignited, and I had more energy for actual conversations with friends and family, rather than just passively observing their digital lives. It truly felt like I had been handed back hours in my day, hours I now filled with things that genuinely nourished my soul. For anyone else feeling the weight of social media, trying a digital detox, even a partial one by moving apps to another device like a laptop, can be transformative. It’s not about demonizing connection, but about finding a healthier balance. It’s about being intentional with your time and energy. This journey has shown me that true freedom isn't about having access to everything online; it's about having the space to truly live offline and rediscover what makes you feel alive.
