Read it and try to look out the window.

Have you ever sat around and looked out the window, looked at the sky, looked at the clouds without doing anything for half an hour or an hour?

In a world where everything is spinning this fast, many people accidentally let themselves float for a long time, and when we feel it again, we often rush to pull our consciousness back and secretly feel a little guilty in our hearts, "Are we working or acting ridiculous?"

In the book "Stolen Focus: The Unfocused World," which I've been reading and reading a lot lately, there's a very interesting chapter that talks about it, and the author calls it "mind-wandering," which, in fact, is not a bad thing, on the contrary, it's the key mechanism that our brain needs a lot.

What does it do to let the wandering?

To put it simply, it is that we do not focus on any goal, it is not plowing the phone feed, it is not watching the series, because they are pulling the brain to get information, but letting go is that we go for a walk, sit quietly on the balcony, take a shower longer than usual, or just lie down and look at the ceiling of the room, let the thoughts flow, jump to that, this, without steering it.

The book says that the moment when our brains are not forced to focus is when the subconscious begins to connect information that we have experienced so quietly that it sometimes comes up with new ideas or deepens our understanding of something in life that we do not even intend.

But...There is a very important limitation of wandering.

The limitation is that letting the wandering mind result in good and relaxing results only when our environment and mind are at a "safe and ready to rest."

If we have a pile of work in front of us at the time, or are having unsolvable stresses, having important concerns, then we try to escape the problem by leaving ourselves alone...What happens is that the brain does not wander to creative ideas, but instead goes back to stress.

Instead of recreation, it becomes a "rumination" of the problem over and over again. It turns out that the more you let go, the more you suffer, the more you stress, the more you try to lie down, even when the fire is burning down.

So when I read it here, I felt that our lives have to find the same fit, which day is cleared, or when you have free time, allowing yourself to "float" or allow your heart to flow without feeling guilty, which is a good little gift for a hard-working brain all day.

Today, who's done clearing the job? Put your phone down for a while and let your heart wander. Let your brain breathe:)
