growth in infertility
i write this as I am sitting & waiting for hopeful confirmation of a successful IVF transfer- I have a good feeling about it, but only God knows.
it's a no brainer that infertility SUCKS. as young girls we are made to believe that you get pregnant just from a gentle touch. i dreamed of becoming a mother yet due to my health issues & mfi, it's been more difficult than i could have imagined.
for anyone going through this, my heart is with you because i am you. it's normal to feel your feelings. these are some things that have contributed to my growth during this time, allowing me to perservere.
1) find community.
Do not keep this journey to yourself and your partner. You want to be surrounded with support whether things go well, or don't go well. You don't have to share with everyone- but having a few people to confide in truly makes a difference. This community can even be an online support group!
2) limit your aimless googling.
i used to have a big issue with spiraling into the interweb & it only caused anxiety. i stuck to a few reputable sources and only go to them when i have an itch for sleuthing.
3)celebrate the little things.
they often call this a "hurry up and wait" game. days feel like months and months feel like years. to help with this- celebrate every tiny victory, because its one step further than you once were.
4)rest.
yes, actual rest. rest spiritually, physically and emotionally. your brain & body are working on overtime, and its extremly important to rest and give yourself grace.
5) daily affirmations & daily praying.
while battling infertility and always facing negative after negative, its crucial to stay grounded. staying grounded allows for you to be present in the moment, and then be able to work through the hard times.
I hope these little tips help you & make you feel a little less alone!

Infertility affects many individuals and couples, yet it often remains a taboo topic. Understanding the emotional impact and available support can empower those navigating these challenges. Joining support groups can provide a sense of belonging and shared experience. Whether in-person or online, these communities often offer hope and practical advice. Limiting internet searches to reliable sources can also alleviate anxiety related to misinformation. Instead of aimlessly browsing, seek guidance from medical professionals and verified organizations that specialize in reproductive health. This not only helps in making informed decisions but also maintains a healthier mindset during the journey. Furthermore, celebrating minor milestones in your IVF process can foster positivity. Recognize that each small step is progress towards your goal, and don’t hesitate to treat yourself on tough days. Taking rest days—mentally and physically—is crucial for overall wellbeing. Engaging in practices like meditation or light exercise can help keep stress levels manageable. Additionally, daily affirmations and prayers can serve as powerful tools. They help in grounding individuals emotionally, reminding them of their strength, even amidst difficulties. Each of these practices not only aids in personal growth but also contributes to an overall healthier outlook during what is often a challenging journey.
