For me, that often means wholesome romance anime, and I've found some absolute gems that I just have to gush about. And speaking of pure, 'Skip & Loafer' is another fantastic slice of life that focuses on friendship and self-discovery. Although it's a 9/10 just because it’s *so short*, its genuine characters and realistic portrayal of high school life make it incredibly endearing. 'A Sign of Affection' also captured my heart with its unique approach to romance, focusing on a deaf protagonist. It beautifully illustrates connection beyond words and the sweetness of understanding. It’s overall super cute and definitely earned its 8/10 from me! This one really stands out for its sensitive portrayal and beautiful art style. Even though much of my recent watchlist has been romance-focused, I did squeeze in 'Kaiju No 8,' which I'd give a strong 10/10! While not romance, it's a thrilling action anime with a compelling story that is similar to Parasite in its unique monster-fighting premise. It’s become my new favorite and is a great option if you're looking for something high-octane after a string of romances. And for a classic that will forever be my favorite, 'Ouran High School Host Club' is a 1000/10 for its hilarious antics and surprisingly heartfelt moments. If you’ve loved these titles and are searching for 'anime like My Love Story' or other pure romance recommendations, you might also adore 'Tsuki ga Kirei' for its realistic portrayal of young love, or 'Horimiya' for its blend of humor and genuine character development. Both offer that beautiful, unadulterated feeling of blossoming affection. These stories remind us of the simple beauty in human connection and the joy of finding your person, or your people.
