Progress isn’t built on the days that feel easy…👇
it’s built when it gets uncomfortable.
1️⃣ When it starts to hurt—stay in it
That’s where strength is developed.
2️⃣ When your mind wants to slow down—lock in
Control your effort. Keep moving forward.
That’s the difference.
Stay tough.
Stay focused.
Keep growing.

From my experience, the key to improving as a runner isn't about choosing the easier paths but embracing the challenging moments when your body and mind push back. Easy runs can feel smooth and enjoyable, but it's the hard runs that truly build strength and resilience. When your muscles start to ache and running feels tough, that's a sign you're reaching your limits. Staying in this uncomfortable zone—rather than slowing down or stopping—trains your body to adapt and grow stronger. Mentally, it’s also a test of your focus and persistence. I've found that locking in mentally when my mind tells me to slow down makes a huge difference in maintaining performance. It’s important to balance these hard efforts with recovery, but don’t shy away from that feeling of discomfort. Training in this zone not only improves physical endurance but significantly builds mental toughness which is essential for races and personal goals. Also, the right gear, like good quality socks and shoes, can support your journey by reducing unnecessary discomfort. Ultimately, progress comes from tackling what feels difficult, embracing the challenge, and refusing to quit. From experience, adopting this mindset has helped me keep going during tough workouts, improve my pace, and enjoy running even more. So, stay tough, keep your focus, and run like a girl—you’ve got this!
