Einstar Vega 3D scanner
Check out that detail. I had some whiskey barrels in for laser engraving so I thought it was a great opportunity to scan one of the barrels with the Einstar Vega 3D scanner. I’m also using the AESUB tracking dots on the barrel and a few on the floor for scan alignment along with the texture alignment option. I used the fast scanning mode due to the size of the barrel.
I used medium scan resolution and also acquired the texture of the barrel to capture the color of the features.
Once I had the scan, I exported the model from the Einstar Starvision software and imported it into the Bambu Studio slicer so I could print some tiny barrels on my 3D printer. I even used Wood PLA filament to give it a little bit of that wooden barrel look.
I also created a cylinder void in the print so the barrel is now open top. I have one that will sit on my desk as a small trash an and a smaller one will be a pen holder.
