Garlicky Steak & Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Garlicky Peas
Serves: 4
Ingredients
For the steak & chicken:
2 steaks (sirloin or ribeye)
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 tbsp butter
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp dried thyme
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the mashed potatoes:
2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 tbsp butter
½ cup milk or cream
Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the garlicky peas:
2 cups green peas (fresh or frozen)
2 tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Directions
Boil the potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15–20 minutes. Drain, then mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Season the steak and chicken with salt, pepper, onion powder, smoked paprika, and thyme.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for 3–5 minutes per side (or to your preferred doneness). Remove and let rest.
In the same skillet, cook the chicken for 6–8 minutes per side until fully cooked. Add the butter and minced garlic during the last 2 minutes, spooning the garlic butter over both the chicken and steak.
In a separate pan, melt the butter, sauté the garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant, then stir in the peas. Cook for 3–4 minutes and season with salt and pepper.
Serve the garlicky steak and chicken alongside creamy mashed potatoes and garlicky peas. Spoon the remaining garlic butter from the pan over the meat and garnish with fresh parsley.
Enjoy this hearty, flavorful meal with your favorite side salad or warm dinner rolls.
