Theory 21 days. To practice the language and come back to love reading.

I like to buy a lot of books before I read them before I go to bed, but after being a mother of two, 😂 it becomes a pile of pickles. Today I will return to the habit of reading with the 21 Day Habit Theory.

It is the idea that repeating any behavior at least 21 days in a row will automatically help the brain and body adapt to become a new habit. This theory comes from Dr. Maxwell Malt's book "Psycho-Cybernetics," and is often used to inspire new habits, such as exercise, reading, attitude modification, or even love.

Key principles:

Repeat: Regularly perform the desired new behavior every day for at least 21 days. Believe that this is how long the brain begins to create new neural pathways to become familiar.

Variety of deployable:

It can be used to build virtually any good habit, such as sleep, 15 minutes of reading a day, or 20 minutes of exercise.

Knowledge:

Although 21 days is a good place to start, some research suggests that true habit formation can take longer (e.g., 66 days), depending on the person and the behavior.

The key is to start building new beliefs and images in the heart in harmony with desired behavior and to continue to build habituation.

THE LITTLE BOOK OF JOY
