Cookie croissants! 🍪🥐

I recently made the viral cookie croissants that all started from that one French bakery! I’ve seen so many renditions done of this dessert that I just had to try it myself.

I used my favorite brown butter chocolate chip cookie recipe that I found on Pinterest, so just use your favorite cookie recipe too. You can also use premade chocolate chip cookie dough!

I used Costco croissants so again, you can use your favorite croissants for the recipe.

I cut open the croissant and added the cookie dough inside and some on top as well. I baked it for 10-12 minutes on 350 and that was it! It was surprisingly not too sweet but it is heavy so I only had a few bites.

Overall, I get the hype!!

... Read moreOkay, so you've seen the viral cookie croissants, or 'crookies' as some call them, and you're ready to dive into making them yourself! I totally get it – that first bite of a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie baked into a flaky croissant is pure bliss. But beyond the basic recipe, there are so many ways to elevate this trending treat and make it truly unforgettable, perhaps even more viral! First, let's talk about that cookie. While a classic chocolate chip cookie is divine, don't be afraid to experiment. Have you ever thought about trying a brown butter snickerdoodle cookie dough inside? Or maybe a peanut butter cookie for a different kind of rich and indulgent experience? For those who might be thinking about crisp cookies, like what comes to mind with "Nestle Cookie Crisp," you could even try pressing some crushed cornflakes or crispy rice cereal into your cookie dough before stuffing it into the croissant. This adds an incredible textural contrast, giving you that delightful crunch alongside the soft, melted cookie interior. Imagine a chocolate chip cookie with a hint of crispy texture – game changer! And what about the croissant itself? My go-to is often a good quality store-bought croissant, but the magic happens in the baking. To achieve that beautiful golden-brown exterior and a slightly crisp finish, similar to a "croissant brulee" without the torch, try brushing your croissants with a simple egg wash (one egg beaten with a tablespoon of water) before baking. For an extra touch of sweetness and subtle caramelization, sprinkle a tiny bit of granulated sugar over the egg wash. This helps create a wonderfully crisp crust that complements the soft interior perfectly. Baking them on parchment paper ensures even cooking and easy cleanup, too! Beyond the classic, think about variations. Mini cookie croissants are adorable for parties or just portion control. You could also drizzle them with melted chocolate or a simple glaze after baking for an extra flourish. For a truly 'viral' presentation, consider how you slice them – showing off that gooey, melted chocolate chip cookie interior, just like in those tempting photos. The rich aroma filling your kitchen is half the experience! What makes a dessert go truly viral? Often it's a combination of simplicity, deliciousness, and a visually appealing 'wow' factor. Cookie croissants hit all these notes. They're relatively easy to assemble, incredibly tasty, and look absolutely stunning fresh out of the oven. Share your creations, tag fellow bakers, and don't be afraid to add your own unique twist. Whether it's a sprinkle of sea salt on top to enhance the chocolate, or a dollop of cream cheese frosting, personalizing your batch makes it even more special. Enjoy experimenting and indulging in this fantastic dessert!
