Homemade liquid soap

Homemade shampoo and conditioner

Yes we are repurposing a maple syrup bottle 😃

We used:

Soap berries from bulk barn

Essential Oils

Citric acid from bulk barn

Xanthan gum from bulk barn

Boil 3 litres of water and 100grams of soap berries. Simmer for an hour. Makes close to 2 litres of “mother liquid soap”

Let cool

Strain with cheese cloth

Stir in a tsp per litre of mother liquid soap soap of citric acid

If you want thicken use xanthan gum

Use your favourite essential oils

I added castor oil, clary sage, lavender, rosemary and peppermint to make shampoo

You can use the mother liquid soap and your favourite essential oils for dish soap

Also soapberries are compostable 😁
