Sekiro is fire

Wow, you guys, Sekiro truly is fire, and I just had to share my absolute nightmare (and ultimate triumph!) with the Giant White Snake – seriously, that thing is massive! When I first stumbled into the Sunken Valley and saw the Giant Serpent peering through the rocks, my jaw dropped. It wasn't even a proper boss fight at first, more like a terrifying environmental puzzle. I remember thinking, 'How on earth am I supposed to get past this?!' The sheer scale of it makes other enemies feel like ants. My first few attempts at just getting through the areas where the Great Serpent patrols were hilarious (and frustrating). I tried to run past, but that massive head and those piercing eyes would always spot me. I learned quickly that stealth is your absolute best friend here. Hugging the left wall in the Sunken Valley, waiting for its head to turn, and then grappling across was such a tense moment. It felt like a scene straight out of a horror movie! You really feel every heartbeat as you sneak past its blind spots. But the real challenge, and the true boss encounter, came later in the Bodhisattva Valley. Oh. My. Goodness. That big snake is just… relentless. The first part, where you have to sneak up and perform a plunging deathblow to its eye, was surprisingly tricky for me. You have to wait for it to rest its head on the platform, then make that leap of faith. I missed it a few times and got instantly chomped – *oof*. It’s all about timing and positioning, and honestly, a bit of luck to not get spotted by those smaller snakes nearby. After I finally landed that first blow, seeing it writhe in pain was incredibly satisfying. Then comes the frantic sprint! It chases you through the canyon, and you have to grapple across to the next vantage point. That second plunge attack opportunity, where you have to grapple onto the kite and then drop down onto its head, felt like something out of an action movie. I remember the adrenaline pumping as I hit that final deathblow. The relief was immense! It wasn’t a traditional sword fight, but more of a strategic takedown, which I actually really appreciated. It makes the game feel so unique. For anyone else struggling with this Shadows Die Twice Giant Snake, here are my personal takeaways: Patience is a Virtue: Don't rush. Observe its patterns, especially its head movements and when it's safe to move. Use the Environment: This entire encounter is about environmental awareness. Grappling points, hiding spots, and the giant kite are all your tools. Stealth is Key: Seriously, embrace your inner ninja. Avoid being seen at all costs until you're ready for the deathblow. Don't Overthink Combat Stats: Unlike other bosses, this isn't about deflecting or chipping away at HP. It's about executing the environmental kills. So don't worry too much about your max vitality and attack power specifically for this fight. Those stats are crucial for other challenges, but here, it's all about method.
