cleaning hacks i learned working at a restaurant👩🏼‍🍳🫧

my first job when i was 14 was being a hostess at a restaurant in my hometown (sadly it’s closed down since) but i learned many things from working there including very valuable kitchen cleaning/organization hacks!

the first hack i learned is ALWAYS given the sink a good scrub after washing the dishes! i use a separate brush for the sink & i usually add ajax to the dawn with a little bit of soap for the best clean but as you can see in these photos i ran out of ajax & just used dawn! the second hack i stand by is keeping under the sink looking pristine & organized. you’ll always know where everything is & this way when there’s a spill you could find the right cleaner with your eyes closed!!

... Read moreMaintaining a spotless kitchen sink is a crucial step in overall kitchen hygiene, especially in busy environments like restaurants. Using scalding hot water when cleaning the sink helps to loosen grime and remove bacteria effectively. Combining Dawn dish soap with disinfectants like Ajax or Clorox can provide a powerful cleaning solution that tackles grease and germs efficiently. Additionally, dedicating a separate brush solely for the sink prevents cross-contamination and ensures thorough scrubbing. Organizing the area under your kitchen sink is another key strategy to keep your cleaning routine efficient. By neatly arranging cleaning products such as Zevo, OROX, Clorox, and specialized traps or sprays like TERRO and Weiman, you can quickly identify and grab the right cleaner during spills or routine cleans. A well-maintained storage space reduces clutter and stress, preventing overlooked messes that could cause hygiene issues. Adopting these restaurant-grade cleaning hacks at home not only improves cleanliness but also extends the lifespan of your kitchen fixtures and surfaces. Implement routine cleaning schedules incorporating these tips, and your kitchen will remain pristine, safe, and welcoming. Regularly inspect your cleaning supplies and reorder as needed to avoid running out of essential products like Ajax or Dawn. Leveraging these experience-based hacks ensures a professional level of organization and sanitation that can benefit any household or food service setting.
