Wow, it feels incredible to finally say I've completed the 75 Hard Challenge! When I first saw 'How it started,' I was skeptical, but the idea of a complete mental and physical overhaul really appealed to me. This isn't just a fitness challenge; it's a mental toughness program that pushes you way beyond your limits. For anyone curious about what it entails, here's the gist: you commit to 75 days of strict rules – two 45-minute workouts daily (one outdoors, no matter the weather!), drinking a gallon of water, sticking to a diet with no cheat meals or alcohol, reading 10 pages of a non-fiction book, and taking a progress picture every single day. Miss one thing, and you start all over again from day one. That's the part that truly tests your discipline! The thought of having to restart was a powerful motivator in itself, making me think twice before skipping a workout or reaching for that forbidden treat. My personal journey through 75 Hard was a rollercoaster of emotions and physical exertion. There were countless days, especially in the middle, when I honestly just wanted to quit. The outdoor workouts, whether in the pouring rain or freezing cold, were brutal. I questioned my sanity more than once while walking around my neighborhood in a blizzard! Resisting my favorite snacks and a relaxing glass of wine felt like a constant battle, especially on weekends when everyone else was indulging. But then I'd remember my 'How it started' condition, look at my initial photo, and envision my 'How it ended' transformation. This vision was my anchor, pulling me back from the brink of giving up. I learned to push past discomfort, to be consistent even when I didn't feel like it, and to truly understand the profound power of showing up for myself every single day, no matter what external circumstances arose. Beyond the incredible physical transformation of losing 18 lbs – which still blows my mind – the mental clarity, self-confidence, and sheer grit I gained are absolutely priceless. My sleep quality dramatically improved, my energy levels soared to new heights, and my focus and productivity at work became significantly sharper. This challenge reshaped my relationship with food, exercise, and my own capabilities. If you're thinking about attempting 75 Hard, my biggest piece of advice is to plan, plan, plan! Meal prepping became my best friend, laying out my workout clothes the night before was non-negotiable, and scheduling my reading time ensured I never fell behind. Don't underestimate the water intake – a gallon is a lot, but the hydration benefits are immense. And remember, it's okay to struggle, to have tough days, but absolutely do not give up. The feeling of accomplishment, the immense pride when you finally hit Day 75, is absolutely unmatched. This challenge truly taught me that I'm capable of so much more than I ever imagined, and it has set a robust new foundation for my long-term health and wellness goals. I'm still working towards even more, but I'm celebrating this huge milestone first and want to encourage anyone on the fence to go for it!
