Healthy habits that improved my mental health.

Last year, I reached a breaking point after years of struggling to find purpose and motivation in my life. Through a journey of trial and error, I discovered several habits that completely transformed my perspective.

The most impactful was taking care of myself physically. I began nourishing my body with healthy foods, engaging in regular exercise, and even small acts like moisturizing after a shower.

Making time each day for self-care made a significant difference in how I felt about myself and my life. It taught me the importance of being kind to my body and prioritizing my well-being. 💗

Another game-changing habit was journaling! I found comfort in pouring out my thoughts and feelings onto paper, I like to call it “word vomiting." Initially intimidating, I often started by writing, "I don't know how I feel”, but gradually, I learned to quiet my mind, organize my thoughts, and identify my emotions and triggers. Journaling became my go-to during moments of loneliness, overthinking, and anxiety.

It lead me to practice self-forgiveness as I realized we're all human and prone to mistakes. Letting go of self-blame was crucial for my mental well-being, leading me towards self-acceptance and inner peace.

Lastly, I adopted the practice of gratitude. Shifting to a positive mindset and acknowledging progress isn’t linear was transformative. I learned to appreciate the bad days and to see them as opportunities for growth. By focusing on gratitude and letting go of the constant need for more, I found greater happiness and contentment in life.

It took me months to adopt these practices fully, but I'm immensely grateful I did!!

... Read moreImproving mental health is essential in today's fast-paced world, and adopting healthy habits can be a transformative journey. Taking care of physical health is foundational. Regular exercise, a balanced diet filled with nutritious foods, and skincare practices contribute to overall well-being. Remember, your physical state is often reflected in your mental state. Journaling provides an excellent outlet for expressing thoughts and emotions. This practice, often referred to as 'word vomiting,' encourages deeper self-awareness and emotional clarity. It's a safe space to process feelings of anxiety or stress. Self-forgiveness is another critical aspect of mental health. When faced with past mistakes, focus on learning and developing instead of self-blame. This shift fosters inner peace and acceptance, promoting a healthier relationship with oneself. Finally, practicing gratitude can have profound effects. Acknowledging even small positives in your life encourages a shift to a more optimistic mindset. This practice allows you to appreciate life's lessons, both good and bad, further enhancing personal growth. Embrace these habits to cultivate a more fulfilling and balanced emotional landscape.
