Healthy habits that improved my mental health.

Last year, I reached a breaking point after years of struggling to find purpose and motivation in my life. Through a journey of trial and error, I discovered several habits that completely transformed my perspective.

The most impactful was taking care of myself physically. I began nourishing my body with healthy foods, engaging in regular exercise, and even small acts like moisturizing after a shower.

Making time each day for self-care made a significant difference in how I felt about myself and my life. It taught me the importance of being kind to my body and prioritizing my well-being. 💗

Another game-changing habit was journaling! I found comfort in pouring out my thoughts and feelings onto paper, I like to call it “word vomiting." Initially intimidating, I often started by writing, "I don't know how I feel”, but gradually, I learned to quiet my mind, organize my thoughts, and identify my emotions and triggers. Journaling became my go-to during moments of loneliness, overthinking, and anxiety.

It lead me to practice self-forgiveness as I realized we're all human and prone to mistakes. Letting go of self-blame was crucial for my mental well-being, leading me towards self-acceptance and inner peace.

Lastly, I adopted the practice of gratitude. Shifting to a positive mindset and acknowledging progress isn’t linear was transformative. I learned to appreciate the bad days and to see them as opportunities for growth. By focusing on gratitude and letting go of the constant need for more, I found greater happiness and contentment in life.

It took me months to adopt these practices fully, but I'm immensely grateful I did!!

Regular exercise, a balanced diet filled with nutritious foods, and skincare practices contribute to overall well-being. Remember, your physical state is often reflected in your mental state.
