what I ate today and why?

as you can tell there’s a LOT of mention of fiber in this post, but why?

Fiber is super important to meet your weight loss goals because it can help feed your gut bacteria!

Most people think bacteria is gross or bad but there’s actually millions of bacteria living in your body right now, most of it won’t do anything and some of it can even help your health!

When you eat a food that’s high in sugar, it gets absorbed into the bloodstream very quickly when it goes into your body. Your body sucks up all the nutrients and calories that it can, so if you eat say, a pop tart, you will absorb every calorie from that poptart extremely quickly. Leaving you hungry sooner, and your body full of sugar

(which it turns into fat) When you eat fiber though, something amazing happens! Your body shares the food with your gut bacteria. It travels further into your system and not only does it not get absorbed as quickly it, it doesn’t all get absorbed! Not all of the calories you eat in broccoli are getting absorbed by your body, some of it is actually getting absorbed by the bacteria in your intestines! Leaving you fuller longer and your gut health happy!
