... Read moreLiving with chronic illness often means facing a barrage of well-meaning but misguided advice. From being told to try yoga or just relax, to comments that undermine the severity of symptoms, many people with chronic conditions like mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) or chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) grow tired of hearing these phrases. What many don’t realize is that these illnesses aren’t about a lack of effort or willpower, but about complex, often misunderstood bodily reactions and nervous system imbalances. I’ve found that the most helpful approach comes from understanding and empathy. Instead of suggesting quick fixes, recognizing that symptoms are very real—even when invisible—can provide immense comfort. The daily battle with chronic illness includes managing overwhelming fatigue, pain, and neurological symptoms, which can be isolating without proper support. One thing I’ve learned personally is that the body isn’t the enemy, even when it feels like it. The nervous system can become overwhelmed from prolonged stress and illness, which affects how symptoms present and how healing can occur. Healing is possible, but it’s often a gradual, non-linear process. For those supporting someone with chronic illness, it helps to listen without judgment, validate their experience, and resist offering simplistic solutions. Encouraging self-compassion and pacing activities can make a significant difference. There is hope, and recovery or improvement can be achieved with the right care, understanding, and time. If you or someone you know is navigating chronic illness, remember you’re not alone. Finding communities that truly 'get it' can help change the narrative and foster resilience and healing. It's not about what hasn’t worked or what others think should work, but about supporting individual journeys with patience and respect.

Living at Home During College 🏡
Living off campus at home has more benefits than some may like to admit. As someone who lived in a dorm and decided to commute from home for my remaining 3 years it was the best decision I ever made. I thrived being around family because I had a constant support system and flexibility in my schedul

TRIGGER WARNING: Shattered in Silence
Once upon a time, I lived with a man. To the outside world, he was charming, likable, funny, charismatic and well respected, but behind closed doors, he wielded his words like daggers and his fists like hammers. Every evening, the once vibrant home turned into a house of horrors as he would unle

Grieving the loss of someone who’s still alive
Losing someone important to you due to their own choices can be one of the most difficult experiences any human could endure. The sheer part of letting go is the hardest. Why would you let go of someone that’s still there? Doesn’t that show YOU’VE given up? Or maybe you agree to the choice as well?

WHY I REMOVED THIS ONE THING FROM MY RESUME
In order to secure a job in NYC, I had to have a very strong application (because it is so competitive), and my resume was a key factor for this. If there's one thing you take away from this post, let it be this: do not include high school accomplishments on your work resume. It's stale and

Yes I am in therapy. Lol. This is just my diary entry at this point. One thing ive learned these past 2 years is that people treat plus sized individuals so different. I went from a size 24 in pants to a size 2. 323lbs to 128. Everyone acts different. Nobody avoids eye contact with me anymore. Em
