what is the worst part of a project you have made?

I'm not so happy with these straps but it was faster than a huge line of star stitch to match 🤣😭🤣😭 and it works 😀

what has been the worst part of a project you had to do in order for it to be finished? and would you make that project again?

I would definitely make this phone pouch again however!!! I need to find a better way to do straps.

... Read moreWhen it comes to crochet projects, one of the most frequent hurdles crafters face is dealing with straps. Many find them tedious and dislike the process of finishing them, as reflected in the common sentiment captured by phrases like "I DESPiSE MAKiNG STRAPS". However, straps are crucial for functionality, especially in items such as phone pouches. The star stitch is a beloved crochet technique among many, appreciated for its aesthetic and texture, but it can be time-consuming to execute throughout a project. To speed things up, some opt for simpler strap techniques or even removable straps, allowing flexibility to later refine or replace them. This approach is practical, letting creators focus on completing the main piece faster while reserving time to perfect the straps. For those who dislike making straps, exploring alternative methods can make the process more enjoyable and the final product more durable. Using different stitches, incorporating sturdy yarns, or adding hardware like clasps for detachable straps can improve both appearance and usability. Many crafters question if they'd remake a challenging project. The answer often depends on how much the project is valued beyond its difficulties. For example, the phone pouch mentioned is something the creator would definitely make again—highlighting that overcoming frustrations leads to rewarding outcomes. Sharing experiences and tips with a crochet community, whether online or locally, can offer fresh ideas for finishing techniques and strap designs. It also helps to hear others' solutions to common problems, making crafting a more collaborative and enjoyable journey. Ultimately, while finishing steps like making straps might be the "worst part" for some, finding inventive solutions and embracing small imperfections can turn any crochet project into a cherished creation worth repeating.

For straps, I gave up hope and started adding real manual straps! Like the ones you make from webbing and buckles! One time I worked on a fireeeeee bag and the strap was my downfall lol. So I’ll only crochet on straps for granny totes 😭
