... Read moreWorking in finance can be intense and fast-paced, so taking small breaks during the day is essential for maintaining focus and productivity. I often find myself catching a breather after lunch by scrolling on my phone—it's my way to unwind and recharge before tackling the afternoon tasks. Being a "cooperate baddie" in finance means striving for excellence while also embracing moments of relaxation to keep the stress at bay. I've learned that balancing hard work with personal downtime helps in managing deadlines and complex projects more effectively. Office life offers a unique rhythm: mornings filled with meetings and analysis, afternoons where energy dips, and moments where playfulness on the phone brings much-needed relief. Sharing glimpses of this routine highlights how vital it is to carve out moments just for yourself, even in a corporate environment. For anyone in a demanding finance role, remember to prioritize your mental health. Small, mindful breaks like these aren't just indulgences; they’re investments in your well-being that ultimately boost your overall performance at work.

A person lies on a bed, writing in a pink notebook, with a bedside lamp and pink roses in the background. The text overlay reads 'THINGS I STOPPED DOING FOR MY MENTAL HEALTH'.
A person's face is shown with text overlay listing 'What I stopped:' including listening to sad music, negative self-talk, not prioritizing hobbies, SH behaviors, seeking validation, oversharing traumas, and negative weight talk.
A person with curly blonde hair has mascara applied, with an overlay of empowering affirmations: 'You are beautiful You are kind You are loved You are strong You are resilient'.
Things I STOPPED doing for my mental health!
Listening to sad music- I love sad music, I think it’s beautiful and relatable. But the reality is it does not help in any way shape or form. It puts you in a negative mindset and you end up in a never ending loop. You’re sad so you listen to sad music, which makes you more sad. And so it repeats.
