Story time 🙈 one day, September 7th to be exact, I decided I wanted to take the family to ride some horses just a casual trail ride and when we pulled up I seen the most beautiful horse and instantly fell in love with her. That’s where the story of ci and Dixie began. I remember the first moment I saw her something in my heart sparkled for the first time in such a long time when she walked up to me I knew she would be my horse. She was trained to be a racehorse but never made it to the track and was rescued by an amazing woman I know call my friend Lonette who owns the horse farm that we did our first family ride at. We don’t know her past beyond the 3 years she’s been with Lonette but after spending time with her I’ve learned so much about her. She’s a one human kind of horse, she gets nervous when there’s more than one person around her but she looks to me for safety and if you know anything about horses that is so special and makes me feel so loved by her. She needs to be refreshed so she is safe to come home with me so until she’s ready she will stay at the farm with Lonette. I see her multiple times a week and work on desensitizing her so she doesn’t spook easily, tacking her up so she gets used to the saddle pressure again, just grooming her and spending time with her building an unbreakable bond. She has helped me heal in so many ways and I know I’ve done the same with her. From day one to now she is a completely different horse and I can’t wait to get her new home ready here at my farm so she can come home and be with me everyday.
