I spent a long time thinking these were two completely separate parts of my life. Horses were the thing I loved, and social media was the thing I was trying to make work.
But somewhere along the way I realized I don’t actually want to build a business just for the sake of saying I built one. I want to build something that gives me choices.
I want to ride more. I want to stop looking at opportunities and immediately calculating whether I can afford them. And someday I want to find out what happens when I finally have the kind of big, fancy horse I used to watch other girls ride while wondering what that must feel like.
That requires money, and I’m not going to pretend it doesn’t.
So this is the messy middle of me figuring out how to build that life. I’ve made money through social media, had times where it felt like I finally figured things out, and plenty of times where I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.
But I’m still trying.
Horses are the dream. This is the part where I figure out how far I can take it.
Navigating the journey of turning passions into a sustainable livelihood is filled with both excitement and challenges. Like many who aim to blend a heartfelt hobby with entrepreneurship, I've found that merging my love for horses with the demands of social media requires constant adaptation and resilience. One key lesson I've learned is the importance of aligning my content and business goals. Sharing authentic stories about my equestrian experiences not only fuels my creativity but also builds a genuine connection with audiences. This authenticity often brings unexpected opportunities and community support, which are invaluable. Financially, it’s a balancing act. Investing in quality horse care and equipment is costly, yet growing a social media presence to the point where it reliably funds these expenses requires time and strategic effort. Patience is essential, as is treating this process as an ongoing learning curve. Sometimes, it means embracing periods of uncertainty and maintaining focus on what truly matters: the joy and freedom that horses bring. Personally, I've found that setting clear intentions—like wanting to ride more freely without immediate financial calculations—motivates me to persevere through the 'messy middle.' Celebrating small wins, such as landing a brand partnership or improving content engagement, helps maintain momentum. For anyone looking to combine a passion like horse riding with social media entrepreneurship, remember that the journey is as significant as the destination. Stay authentic, invest in your growth, and allow yourself grace during the times of doubt. Horses are not just a dream but a symbol of the freedom and fulfillment that sustainable success can bring.
