It’s okay to pause along the way, as long as you find the courage to start again.
Taking time to pause during any journey—whether physical, mental, or emotional—is often misunderstood as a setback. From my own experiences, I've realized that a pause is not a sign of failure but a vital break that renews energy and motivation. For instance, when preparing for long runs, I sometimes slow down or stop briefly to catch my breath, regroup, and refocus. This was especially true during a 6.28 km run in Woodlands where maintaining a steady pace around 8:48 per km helped me complete the course efficiently despite the mid-run breaks. Through these pauses, I learned the importance of listening to my body and mind. Instead of pushing relentlessly, I allowed space to reflect on my progress and re-engage with fresh determination. Using tools like STRAVA to track distance and pace can uniquely motivate one to balance effort with rest. Every restart after a pause feels like reclaiming control, fostering resilience that extends beyond running. Ultimately, the courage to start again after pausing is crucial in any personal or professional challenge. It teaches adaptability and reinforces the mindset that progress is not always linear but filled with meaningful rest points that prepare us for success.
