The universe gives me hope 🌍
I had terrible 😞 #depression , was in agony 🤕 for my #ibs #lonliness and #rejection I’ve faced recently from #friends . I couldn’t get 🆙 didn’t feel like living, and have a lot of internalized religious trauma still believing that g-d is punishing me, and overthinking of my path; and whether to trust myself, to live my best life, than be stuck to my toxic blood 🩸 family’s traditional expectations. I went to an art show that was about empowerment, grief and expressing your feelings. I posed for the camera 📸 writing I’m adventurous despite being afraid, and despite my pit falls, I still have hope, and grateful to being alive! Thanks 🙏
Dealing with mental health challenges like depression combined with physical health issues such as IBS can feel incredibly isolating, especially when compounded by loneliness and feelings of rejection. From my own experience, finding hope in such dark moments often starts with small steps towards self-expression and self-compassion. I relate deeply to the struggle of battling internalized beliefs—for me, questioning spiritual faith and overcoming religious trauma was a significant hurdle. It’s common to wrestle with feelings of punishment or to doubt one’s own path, especially when family expectations feel restrictive or toxic. What helped me was gradually learning to separate my true self from those imposed identities, embracing an adventurous spirit despite fear or setbacks. Photography and creative expression, like writing affirmations or posing for the camera as a declaration of resilience, provide therapeutic benefits. They help reinforce a positive narrative—a reminder that despite the pain, hope remains. Gratitude for life, even in its imperfection, acts as a powerful motivator to keep moving forward. To anyone struggling, I encourage finding your own unique ways to express your pain and triumphs, whether through art, journaling, or community support. Remember, reaching out for help, professional or empathetic friends, can also be crucial in navigating depression and chronic illnesses. Healing is neither linear nor quick, but by trusting yourself and allowing space for emotions, it’s possible to reclaim your best life beyond fear and trauma.
