I’ve realized something: the “dream life” isn’t just gowns and magic and big moments. It’s also laundry. It’s also routines. It’s also doing the boring stuff that makes everything else feel possible. So I’m starting a new series: Main Character Maintenance: the real behind-the-scenes of me getting my shit together in 2026. Cleaning my house, building healthier habits, trying new things that scare me a little, and rebuilding my days in a way that actually supports the life I want.

Episode 1: I’m co-working with a friend @chloelaverson (aka body doubling) because apparently my brain loves accountability more than motivation. We set up, we lock in, we do the tasks we’ve been avoiding, and we hype each other up like the cheerleaders we are!

If you’re in your “I’m trying” era too… come with me. Tell me what you’re working on right now, and if you want, I’ll be your accountability buddy in the comments. 🫶✨

... Read moreStarting my own journey of maintaining consistency with everyday tasks has been eye-opening. Like the article suggests, the dream life is not just glamorous moments but the steady effort behind the scenes, such as doing laundry, cleaning, and building routines that sustain well-being. One method that’s truly boosted my productivity is "body doubling," where I work alongside a friend or accountability partner to stay focused and motivated. When I do this, distractions minimize and tasks I usually procrastinate on get done faster. I also learned the importance of making these routines flexible but regular, so they don’t feel like a burden but rather something that empowers me. Incorporating small changes like morning stretches, meal prepping, or decluttering a corner of my space each day gradually rebuilds my environment and mindset. Plus, celebrating tiny wins is crucial—it keeps the momentum going. If you’re in a similar "I’m trying" era, it’s helpful to share your goals or struggles with others who understand. Accountability buddies, even virtual ones, can cheer you on and hold you gently to your commitments. It’s those small daily maintenance steps—what I’d call "main character maintenance"—that really lead to a life that feels more aligned with your dreams. So, take a deep breath, start small, and keep moving forward. We’re all co-creators of our dream lives, one routine at a time.
