จากประสบการณ์ตรงในการทำงานพยาบาล ผมอยากแชร์ว่าภาระงานหนักในเวรดึกไม่ใช่เรื่องแปลกใหม่ พยาบาลหลายคนต้องรับผิดชอบดูแลผู้ป่วยจำนวนมากในเวลาเดียวกัน ทั้งตรวจอาการให้ยาและตอบสนองเหตุฉุกเฉิน เมื่อพิจารณาข้อมูลจากรายงานล่าสุด พบว่าแม้ประเทศไทยจะผลิตพยาบาลได้จำนวนมากถึง 119 สถาบัน แต่การกระจายตัวของพยาบาลกลับไม่สมดุล โดยพบว่าพยาบาลหนาแน่นที่สุดอยู่ในกรุงเทพฯ ในขณะที่บางเขตรายได้มีอัตราการขาดแคลนสูงถึง 1 ต่อ 479 คน สิ่งนี้สะท้อนให้เห็นว่าปัญหาไม่ใช่แค่เรื่องจำนวนพยาบาล แต่เป็นเรื่องของการจัดสรรทรัพยากรบุคคลและสภาพแวดล้อมการทำงาน ในเวรดึกที่หลายโรงพยาบาลยังต้องรับผู้ป่วยใหม่อย่างต่อเนื่อง เตียงเต็มไปด้วยเคสฉุกเฉินที่รอการดูแล พยาบาลจึงต้องทำงานอย่างหนักโดยแทบไม่มีเวลาพักผ่อน ซึ่งส่งผลโดยตรงต่อความเหนื่อยล้าทางกายและใจ ผมเห็นกับตาว่าความเหนื่อยนี้ไม่ได้เกิดจากความอ่อนแอของพยาบาลแต่เกิดจากโครงสร้างระบบที่ยังไม่ได้รับการแก้ไขให้เหมาะสม นอกจากนี้ การดูแลคนดูแลก็เหมือนการสร้างพื้นฐานให้ระบบสุขภาพยั่งยืน รัฐและหน่วยงานควรพิจารณานโยบายเพื่อลดภาระงานเกินพิกัด เช่น การเพิ่มจำนวนพยาบาลในพื้นที่ขาดแคลน การปรับปรุงระบบจัดการเวลาเวร และมีมาตรฐานความปลอดภัยในการทำงานอย่างเข้มงวด เพื่อให้พยาบาลสามารถปฏิบัติงานได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและปลอดภัย ดังนั้น การสูญเสียพยาบาลแต่ละครั้งไม่ควรจบแค่ความเศร้า แต่ควรเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการเปลี่ยนแปลงระบบ เหมือนที่เราได้เห็นการเปลี่ยนแปลงในวงการอื่น ๆ การใส่ใจและแก้ไขปัญหานี้จะช่วยรักษาและยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้ป่วยและผู้ที่ทุ่มเททำงานเบื้องหลังอย่างแท้จริง
