Veranda Lavender-a first year impression 💜
Veranda Lavender is part of the Veranda rose series by Kordes — along with Veranda Cream, Orange, Mango and more.
I chose this one simply because I love soft purple tones.
But she turned out to be different from what I imagined.
Instead of a cool, greyish lavender, her color leans warmer — a pink-toned purple, almost plum-like 🍇
Not the dreamy lavender I expected, but surprisingly charming in her own way.
She’s a compact shrub rose, staying under 1 meter (about 3 ft), with blooms more like a mini rose.
Small flowers, but endless energy — she’s constantly in bloom from spring through fall 🌸
With regular feeding, she just keeps going.
Veranda Lavender is incredibly healthy.
No black spot, no powdery mildew,
lush green foliage all summer long 🍃
She has no fragrance, but makes up for it with reliability.
As a Kordes rose, winter hardiness is never a concern.
She can survive close to Zone 4 winters and handles summer heat, rain, and full sun with ease ❄️☀️
The Veranda series, in general, is hard to fault.
Choose the color you like — they’re all easy, compact, and dependable roses.
Sometimes a rose doesn’t match the picture in your mind,
but still earns her place in the garden. 💜
