Michelin Chicken Rice & ZiChar All Under One Roof

Tiong Bahru Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice has opened their first restaurant at Takashimaya! Not only serving their classic but also zhichar dishes.

The chicken here is the star, choose tender white chicken or juicy roasted chicken. And the rice? You can choose the classic fragrant style, fragrant basmati, or even premium Japanese rice that’s usually for sushi.

You also get to enjoy local zichar dishes like curry fish head, chilli soft shell crab with mantou and salted egg pumpkin. Chendol lovers, you’ll want to save room for Coconut Chendol Bliss. Sweet, creamy and the perfect way to end the meal.

... Read moreBesides the popular chicken rice options, I found the variety of rice offered here truly impressive — from the classic fragrant rice to fragrant basmati, and even premium Japanese Niigata Koshihikari rice usually reserved for sushi, giving you a unique dining experience. What really stood out to me were the zi char offerings. The curry fish head came in a flavorful, aromatic gravy with tender fish and fresh vegetables soaking up all the goodness — truly comforting and satisfying. Another highlight was the chilli soft shell crab coated in salted egg sauce; the crispy exterior combined with a soft interior mantou made a perfect pairing to enjoy every bit of the rich sauce. If you’re looking for a sweet ending, the Coconut Chendol Bliss is a must-try — creamy, sweet, and refreshing, it was the ideal complement to the savory feast. This spot is really convenient too, located at Takashimaya B2-36A, Orchard Road, open from 11am to 9pm on weekdays and 10:30am to 9:30pm on weekends. It’s a perfect place when your family craves different favorites under one roof.

i queued 30 mins for this ~$10/pax Michelin Star ⭐️
This was one of those meals that stays with you long after you leave the table. From the first dish to the last bite, everything felt comforting, bold, and cooked with real confidence. Not flashy for the sake of it — just genuinely good Sichuan food done right. My absolute favorites were the 口水鸡
