Dealing with Keloid scars.

**Not a skincare professional**

My keloid scar on my chest used to be much bigger. Over the last couple years, it's gotten smaller. It was an indirect effect of the other things.

I didn't think it was possible to shrink the size of them. Keloids are inflammation. So it may be possible to help shrink the size by focusing on doing things to help reduce inflammation.

Shea butter and Tea tree oil are good for inflammation. Black seed oil may help as well.

... Read moreKeloid scars can be challenging to handle, as they often develop after skin injuries like cuts, burns, or piercings. These raised scars result from an overproduction of collagen during the healing process, leading to excessive tissue growth. While some people find keloid scars fade over time, others may need to take proactive measures to manage them. Natural remedies such as shea butter are known for their anti-inflammatory properties, which can play a crucial role in minimizing the appearance of keloids. Tea tree oil, recognized for its antimicrobial qualities, can also aid skin healing by preventing infection and reducing inflammation. Additionally, black seed oil is applauded for its effectiveness in promoting skin health and soothing irritation, which can be beneficial for keloid-prone skin. Maintaining a consistent skincare routine, coupled with these natural treatments, may result in improved skin texture and reduced scar visibility over time. Always consider consulting with a healthcare professional for personalized advice, particularly if the keloids are bothersome or painful. This holistic approach not only ensures safer and natural treatments but also addresses the underlying inflammation associated with keloid formation.
