STOP MEAL PREPPING

I know meal prepping is a huge game changer but there is a better more efficient way to go about hitting your nutrition goals...

PREP INGREDIENTS - and here's why ⤵️

-more time efficient, you can cook up ingredients as you run out, so usually you are not spending hours in one day cooking up separate meals. You can refill your chicken when you run out and you still have veggies and potatoes left. You can prep rice when you still have beef or sweet potatoes still prepped in the fridge.

-more diversity, you can create different "meals" with different ingredients for example if you have prepped ground beef you could make tacos or burger bowls out of it instead of 1 or the other. You can also mix and match proteins with different carbs so you are not eating the same "meal" every time.

-MUCH easier to hit macros. You won't be playing macro tetrus at the end of the night and its much easier to track this way.

... Read moreMeal prepping has been popularized as a solution for healthy eating, but it can often feel tedious and time-consuming. Instead of dedicating entire days to meal prep, consider focusing on ingredient preparation. By prepping individual components rather than full meals, you can enjoy a variety of dishes throughout the week without the monotony of eating the same meals every day. For instance, by cooking proteins like chicken or beef, you can use them in different ways—think stir-fries, tacos, or salads—allowing for a more exciting meal rotation. Additionally, this method allows for more flexibility: if you run out of one ingredient, it doesn't derail your entire week's meal plan. This approach also simplifies macro tracking. Instead of logging multiple complete meals, you can more easily calculate your macronutrients based on the ingredients used. This not only makes meal tracking less stressful but can also lead to more consistent dietary results. Moreover, if you maintain a variety of prepped vegetables and carbs, you'll find it easier to balance your plate with the right nutrients. The key takeaway here is that meal preparation doesn't need to be rigid; adapt it to fit your lifestyle better, ensuring you meet your nutrition goals while enjoying diverse and customizable meals.

girl YES! One of my go-to preps is cooking a family pack of chicken and shredding it, and keeping it in the fridge. Chicken salad? Easy. Heat it up in a pan with taco seasoning for a bowl? Takes five mins. High Protein Buffalo Chicken dip? say less

I do this sometimes. It really depends on what I’m taking for lunch
