My birth story
#mybirthstory #lemon8challenge I'm a teen mom. I found out my senior year of high school that I was pregnant. I thought It was the end of the world for me. I didn't get to go to college, I thought I was going to have to drop out of school. I actually thrived that year. I quit my toxic sport team, I became president of FCCLA, and I was even in the school musical! on top of working 30+ hours a week. I graduated with honors! a week after graduation my mom and I went to the beach. less than 2 days later I went into labor. Around 1 am they became unbearable (but I have a low pain tolerance) and I called my boyfriend who luckily had just woken up for work. I woke my brother up bc it was hard to walk and had him get my mom. my contractions were 4 minutes apart! the Dr on call was rude and told me to go home but I was in too much pain and refused. when I got to the hospital they told me I was only 2 cm dilated. they almost sent me home but I begged to wait until MY Dr was able to get there. I waited 3 hours before hearing from her and she told me that I was good to be induced. I was transferred to the birthing room and got on Morphine and epidural as fast as I could. PSA FOR 1ST TIME EPIDURAL PPL! they don't allow anyone else in the room when it happens. they tell you to calm down but with contractions and stuff that's hard! after it was all set up it was almost instant relief. I slept, had a few visitors, ate jello and Popsicles, and slept some more. after a while I had a visitor right around my last dilation check and the Dr said I was 10 cm! Around the same time the epidural started to wear off before they could give me more. so during birth I could only feel 1 leg lol. I had my mom and my boyfriend with me and I pushed for 3 hours (which is fast for 1st time moms) it was the worst pain of my life but I made it through. her cord was short so they had to cut it before I could do skin to skin. I also lost a lot of blood and almost passed out but I barely remember much else. as bad as it all was, I now have my beautiful daughter ❤️ to all the soon to be moms... it's worth it.
