Cinnamon Roll Casserole 🥘

I had a can of the Original Pillsbury Cinnamon Biscuits and was craving for something sweet. Cinnamon Roll Casserole came to my mind! So, here’s the ingredients and how to make it down below 👇🏽

Ingredients:

1 tube of Original Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls

Ground cinnamon

Light Brown Sugar

1/4 cup melted unsalted butter

Cinnadust Sugar Toppings

Glaze Icing:

The container of icing that came with the cinnamon rolls

Powdered Sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 to 2 tsp milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a small baking dish and spray with cooking spray until fully coated to prevent sticking. Set aside.

Open the can of cinnamon rolls. Cut each cinnamon roll in half and then cut each half in half. You can cut into smaller pieces if you want. Repeat this step for each roll. Then, add cinnamon and brown sugar. Add to your liking. Mix together until fully coated. Melt the butter. Then add the butter to the pieces and mix together.

Add to the baking pan. Sprinkle some cinnadust sugar toppings on top. Then, place in oven and bake for 20-23 minutes.

Once done, take out and let it rest for a few. In bowl, add the icing from the container, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract. Mix together until the consistency is good to drizzle. Then drizzle the glaze icing over top of the casserole. Serve warm! Enjoy.

... Read moreHey everyone! You know how much I love a good, easy recipe, and my Cinnamon Roll Casserole is definitely one of my go-tos for a sweet treat or a decadent breakfast. Since sharing my basic recipe, I've had so many questions about variations and tips, so I wanted to dive a little deeper and share some more insights! Understanding "Cinnamon Roll Casserole with Biscuits" A lot of you search for "cinnamon roll casserole with biscuits," and it's a great question because sometimes people get confused. My recipe uses those fantastic Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, which are often affectionately called "biscuits" by many home cooks because they come in a similar can. They're already sweetened and spiced, making them super convenient for this casserole! However, if you're thinking of using plain canned biscuits (like buttermilk biscuits) to make your own cinnamon rolls from scratch before assembling the casserole, that's a whole different adventure! While possible, it adds a few more steps. If you do decide to go that route, you'd need to flatten each biscuit, spread it with butter, sprinkle generously with cinnamon and brown sugar, roll it up, and then slice it before throwing it into the casserole. It’s more work, but yields a slightly less sweet base, allowing you more control over the sugar! For simplicity and speed, I always recommend sticking with the pre-made cinnamon rolls like the Pillsbury ones. Adapting for Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls Many of you also love the Pillsbury Grands! They're bigger and fluffier, which means they'll create an even more substantial casserole. The good news? My recipe works perfectly with Grands too! You'll just want to adjust the cutting. Instead of cutting each roll into quarters, you might find cutting them into 6-8 pieces works better to get a good distribution in your pan. Since they're larger, they might also need an extra minute or two in the oven, so keep an eye on them until they're golden brown and bubbly. The key is to ensure all those delicious pieces get coated in the buttery cinnamon-sugar mixture! Making it a Hearty Cinnamon Roll Breakfast This casserole isn't just a dessert; it's an amazing breakfast! To make it a more complete meal, I often serve it alongside some crispy bacon or sausage patties. A side of fresh fruit, like berries or sliced bananas, adds a lovely contrast to the sweetness. You can even whip up some scrambled eggs for a savory balance. It’s perfect for a weekend brunch when you want something special without all the fuss. Sometimes, I'll drizzle a little extra maple syrup over the top for an even more indulgent experience! Spice It Up! Fun Variations for Your Cinnamon Roll Bake While my basic recipe is a winner, it's fun to explore variations! If you're into the "crockpot apple cinnamon roll casserole" idea, you can easily adapt this by adding a layer of thinly sliced apples (tossed with a little cinnamon and brown sugar, of course!) to the bottom of your baking dish before adding the cinnamon roll pieces. Or, for a slow cooker version, you can assemble it in your crockpot and cook on low for 2-3 hours until bubbly and cooked through. Just be sure to check it periodically, as slow cooker times can vary. Another fun twist is to add nuts! A sprinkle of chopped pecans or walnuts over the top before baking adds a lovely crunch and nutty flavor. For a touch of citrus, a tiny bit of orange zest mixed into the glaze can really brighten things up. It's all about making it your own! No matter how you make it, this cinnamon roll casserole is a guaranteed hit. It’s such a simple way to bring a smile to everyone's face, whether it’s for a special breakfast or just a cozy evening treat. Happy baking!
