C'est quoi « une bonne fille » ? 💅 ✨
La vidéo « c'est quoi un bon gars? » : @Poetry Panacée
Reflecting on the idea of what it means to be a "bonne fille" or "good girl," I realize how deeply rooted these traits are in traditional societal and patriarchal norms. Words like obedient, polite, discreet, empathetic, and helpful are often used to define a "good girl," but it’s important to question whose standards these really serve. In my own experiences navigating relationships and societal expectations, I noticed how these norms can feel limiting. While being empathetic and polite are valuable qualities, being expected to always be obedient and discreet can suppress individuality and self-expression. These standards often enforce a moral code that might prioritize others' comfort over one’s own voice. Moreover, discussions around "good girls" and "good guys" often come with normative judgments that reinforce traditional roles rather than promote authentic connection and equality. Understanding these labels helps us see the pressures placed on individuals, especially women, to conform rather than to flourish. I encourage anyone reflecting on these norms to embrace the qualities that truly resonate with their personal values and to question inherited standards that may no longer serve a healthy, balanced lifestyle. By doing so, we reclaim the freedom to define what goodness means on our own terms, fostering genuine relationships built on respect and mutual understanding rather than rigid adherence to outdated moral codes.
