Sunscreen used to protect the skin as actually claimed or ⁉️ (Updated Edition)

The Australian Consumer Organization (CHOICE) revealed 20 brands of sunscreen results. 16 items were found with lower SPF than indicated on the label. Some brands from SPF 50 + left only SPF 4. Quick Product Recall

SYDNEY - CHOICE, an Australian consumer organization

Has revealed the results of 20 popular sunscreen tests.

The item on the market, much to the consternation of consumers, found that up to 16 sunscreens providing sun protection (SPF) did not match the item label.

Most recently, the Ultra Violette brand has announced its removal.

Lean Screen products went off the shelves while the Naked Sundays brand temporarily suspended sales of the Collagen Mineral sunscreen cream and three other products were recalled pending new testing.

CHOICE has sent all 20 sunscreens to be tested in a laboratory certified by the Australian Treatment Goods Regulatory Authority (TGA). The results show that only 4 products have passed the test and the SPF is exactly as specified.

The most shocking case was the Ultra Violette Lean Screen SPF 50 + Mattifying Zinc Skinscreen, whose test results had only 4 SPF. To be precise, CHOICE sent a new lot of products to be tested at another laboratory in Germany, where the results were close.

Alongside is SPF 5.

At first, Ultra Violette came out to dispute the test results, but after an internal investigation that found considerable test results volatility (ranging from SPF 4 to 64), the company decided to withdraw the product from the market and offer refunds to customers.
