It’s the “what if” thoughts

Sometimes fear doesn’t come loudly.

It comes quietly.

While waiting.

While not knowing.

While everything feels a bit uncertain.

Like today.

Sitting there…

waiting for results…

and many thoughts just come in.

What if this.

What if that.

I realised something.

Fear is not always about big things.

Sometimes it’s just

not knowing what’s going to happen next.

And I don’t think we can remove fear completely.

But I’m learning this.

To pause.

To breathe.

To not let every thought run wild.

And to trust a bit more.

Not everything is within our control.

But how we respond…

that one we can choose.

And today…

I choose to stay calm.

And trust God through this 💛

Or maybe…

you’ve felt this kind of quiet fear before?

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

3/26 Edited to

... Read moreFear often sneaks in quietly rather than shouting for attention, especially when we find ourselves waiting without answers. I've personally experienced these 'what if' thoughts creeping in during moments of uncertainty, where the unknown feels daunting. It's interesting to realize that fear doesn't always have to be about big, life-altering events; sometimes it's just the nervousness from not knowing what comes next. In my own journey, confronting this subtle fear has become a lesson in mindfulness. Rather than letting my thoughts spiral uncontrollably, I've learned the power of pausing and taking deliberate, calming breaths. This simple act helps ground me and separates me from the anxiety that uncertainty can generate. Another approach that has helped is embracing trust — not necessarily in specific outcomes, but in the process itself. Trusting that even if I don’t know what happens next, I possess the resilience and faith to face it. This reflective attitude shifts my focus from the fearful anticipation of 'what if' to a peaceful acceptance of the moment. Faith has played a crucial role in this transformation. Holding onto the idea that fear does not come from a place of power but from a lack of certainty reminds me of the strength that comes with love and sound mind, as reminded in 2 Timothy 1:7. This verse encourages me to remember that fear isn’t meant to control me. Everyone encounters this quiet fear at some point—whether waiting for results, facing an uncertain future, or navigating life's unpredictabilities. Recognizing it as a natural part of human experience rather than a sign of weakness has been liberating. If you’ve experienced these moments, try taking a moment to breathe deeply and remind yourself that some things are beyond your control, and that's okay. How we respond to fear is within our power. Choose calm, choose faith, and choose to trust the process of life, even when the path ahead feels unclear.

Being the observer of our thoughts
Most of us spend so much time inside our thoughts that we forget we can step outside them. You don’t have to believe, fix, or fight every thought that appears. Try observing them instead. Notice what your mind is doing, name the thought, and let it pass. You’ll start to see that not every th
