THE NEW STANDARD ✨🌿 BLACK WOMEN HEALTH.

Black women health- Black women we need to make working out part of our cultural routine because obesity and binge eating is common behavior with in our culture (stress eating). I've noticed that a lot of people are not being honest when it comes to the unhealthy eating patterns flase body positivity that the black community promotes. This is a nation wide problem. We have a unhealthy relationship with food ,Having realistic body standards and lack of discipline.

Binge eating and breaking patterns-

Binge eating and using food as comfort is a real reason why a lot of black women are overweight. It stems from abuse, neglected, flase comfort, escapism, lack of discipline. Consuming large amount of food isn't going to solve the problem in your life. You have to follow the root cause. Ask yourself " am I really hungry or am I bored or trying to fill a void ". This is a cycle that many bw have to break. Everything is literally a truma response. Food should be a luxury pleasure not a everyday tool to relief emotional baggage.

The New Standard and Honesty-

Our Community loves to sugar coat the truth and lives in delusion when it comes to our BMI. Being obese shouldn't be the norm in our culture because it will lead to internal health consequences like diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, arthritis, etc. I am not promoting being skinny because black women bodies are built differently. But we subconsciously know when we have to lose some weight. Working out not only helps your body physically its also good for your mental health. Women who usually take care of of thier bodies age gratefully and able to keep thier bone density longer. (after age 30 we start to lose our bone density and collagen faster as we age). The new standards that black women in 2025 should be incorporating is living a healthy lifestyle. Eating healthy foods , a gym membership or personal ways of exercising, and maintaining your beauty.

Environment and Toxic relationships-

Black women , if you have people around you that get upset that you want to start to take care of your physical health= losing weight and getting hotter , cut them off. I've noticed when black women start to take fitness seriously it starts to make people uncomfortable because they subconscious know your beauty will elevate and your dating pool and your social currency will change. A black women with face intelligence body and goals is a triple threat. A lot of people dont want you to see your own beauty potential (your toxic circle sees it but they dont want you to know because they know if your invest in your beauty and health the friendship would end). Self investments will always attract envy 💯. its truth. Always have body standards for your self and keep them. Dont let fake people put nonsense in your head. Being fit and healthy should always be the goal. Only a fake woman/friend will promote anti-fitness and being comfortable in a unhealthy lifestyle. drop them and get in the 🏋️‍♀️ 💪 GYM.

Diet and Nutrition-

When starting your weight journey, try to meet with a nutritionists to build a custom plan and stick to it. Good choice Will is a major key factor in losing weight. Exercising without a healthy diet makes no sense. High protein with vegetables will change your body chemistry quickly while incorporating weight training/ different forms of exercising techniques. Research the appropriate lifestyle eating that will keep you full throughout the day so you won't be hungry. Remember diet is the most important key factor for weight management.

STAY FIT AND STAY HWATT.

2025/7/8 Edited to

... Read moreStarting a healthy lifestyle can feel like climbing a mountain, especially when you're a woman juggling so many responsibilities. I've been there, and I know how hard it is to stay motivated and disciplined when life throws curveballs. We often hear 'just do it,' but it's rarely that simple. For me, the real shift happened when I stopped viewing health as a chore and started seeing it as an act of radical self-love. It's about nurturing a HEALTHY BODY, HEALTHY MIND, HEALTHY SOUL – truly holistic well-being. One of the biggest hurdles is finding and maintaining motivation. It's not a constant state; it ebbs and flows. I learned that my motivation wasn't about willpower, but about purpose. Why do I want to be healthy? Is it to chase a number on a scale, or is it to have the energy to play with my kids, feel confident in my skin, or prevent future health issues? When my 'why' became stronger than my excuses, showing up became easier. Celebrating small victories, like consistently drinking more water or adding a 15-minute walk, really helps build that momentum. Don't wait for motivation to strike; start small, and motivation will often follow. Then there's discipline. This one is tough because it asks us to follow your plan not your mood. How many times have I planned a workout, only to have a bad day and decide to skip it? Too many! I found that creating non-negotiable routines helped immensely. Instead of asking myself if I'd work out, I'd ask *when*. Laying out my gym clothes the night before or prepping healthy snacks for the week eliminated decision fatigue. It's about building habits that are stronger than temporary feelings. And when I slip up, which happens, I don't let one missed workout derail my entire week. I acknowledge it, learn from it, and get right back on track. This resilience is key to sustainable discipline. A truly healthy lifestyle for women goes beyond just hitting the gym or strict dieting. It encompasses everything. I realized how much stress and poor sleep were impacting my ability to stick to my health goals. Incorporating practices like meditation, setting boundaries in relationships, and prioritizing 7-8 hours of sleep became just as important as my protein intake. And speaking of the gym, don't shy away from strength training! It's not just for men. Building muscle has incredible benefits for women – it boosts metabolism, improves bone density (which becomes super important as we age!), and gives you a functional strength that makes everyday tasks easier. It helps sculpt your physique in a powerful way, making you feel strong and capable. Finally, your environment truly matters. The original article mentions cutting off toxic relationships, and I can't stress this enough. Find your tribe – women who uplift you, celebrate your progress, and hold you accountable without judgment. Surround yourself with people who inspire you to be your best self, not those who enable unhealthy habits or make you feel guilty for prioritizing your well-being. It's a journey, not a destination, and having a supportive community can make all the difference in staying committed to your healthy lifestyle discipline.

I disagree that the black community’s culture is the cause of obesity for them. Black people were never considered in the development of western medicine so it is likely that we don’t have a base line for health in our community. I do agree that we should work on establishing one. So I love this and I’m in full support with the rest of it. <3
