New Smell Goods Part 13
Here’s part 13 of fragrances I recently purchased
I heard good things about Egyptian Sugar Soirée since it was released but I was still very hesitant to purchase for some reason 😅.
When I seen it was 30% off the 1st time, I still did not purchase the fragrance 😆 I guess I wasn’t ready lmaooo but the 2nd time I played no games 🤣. I ordered it on the 31st and it was delivered today and it came earlier than expected.
When I say Egyptian Sugar Soirée is the big sister to Boujee Marshmallow, she is just that. They share similar dna profile but they are in no way the exact same person. ESS is the calm level headed older sister who keeps the peace when something happens 😂and boujee marshmallow is the younger sister that is the acts first, ask questions later type of person 😂 can go from 0-100 in like 5 seconds 😂😂😂😅. There’s nothing wrong with having both in your collection. Because sometimes you need something that’s calm but still sweet and sometimes you will need something that is loud and still sweet 😂. Then there’s some days you need both 😂🤷🏾♀️.
I already have a combo for this fragrance but it will be for Tuesday’s SOTD since I have already found one for tomorrow lmaooo.
Okay, so let's really get into the nitty-gritty of this Sphinx Egyptian Sugar Soirée! When I first sprayed it, I immediately picked up on those intriguing top notes. The milk cream and coconut milk create such a dreamy, inviting opening – it's not overly sweet or cloying, but wonderfully creamy and smooth. It feels luxurious right from the start. As it settles, the heart of the fragrance truly blossoms with more coconut, vanilla, and general sweet notes. This is where it lives up to its 'sugar' name, but in a sophisticated way, not a childish candy way. The OCR description really hit the nail on the head calling it 'fruity, creamy, sweet, grown & sexy.' I definitely get that grown-up sweetness. It’s comforting yet alluring. What truly grounds this fragrance are the base notes of white musk, tonka bean, and benzoin. They give it a beautiful depth and a slight warmth, making it feel incredibly well-rounded and long-lasting on the skin. You also get hints of amber, a soft muskiness, and a powdery warmth that just wraps around you. It's truly a complex scent that evolves beautifully. Now, about the big question: how does it compare to Boujee Marshmallow, and is it a 'dupe'? While they share that delicious gourmand DNA, especially the sweet and vanilla aspects, Egyptian Sugar Soirée really stands out as the 'big sister.' Where Boujee Marshmallow might be that playful, bold scent that announces its presence everywhere, ESS is more refined and elegant. It's calm, collected, and projects a sophisticated sweetness. It's not a direct dupe in the sense of being identical, but rather a more mature, slightly softer interpretation of a similar theme. If you love that marshmallowy sweetness but want something that feels a bit more put-together for work or a classy evening out, this is it. It’s perfect for those days you want to feel sweet and inviting without being overwhelmingly loud. Given its profile – fruity, creamy, sweet, grown & sexy – I'd say it's an incredibly versatile fragrance. It’s perfect for cozy nights in, but also elegant enough for a special occasion. The 'safe blind buy' label from the OCR is something I can actually agree with, especially if you're a fan of gourmand scents with a creamy, vanilla, and coconut backbone. I can easily see myself reaching for this during cooler months, but its creamy coconut notes could even transition well into warmer evenings. For anyone looking for Sphinx Egyptian Sugar Soirée on Amazon or other retailers, I'd highly recommend keeping an eye out for sales, just like I did. Getting a high-quality fragrance like this at a discount makes it even sweeter! It’s definitely a fragrance that makes you feel good. The blend of vanilla, sweet, coconut, amber, musky, powdery, and warm spicy accords creates a truly captivating experience. The milk cream and coconut milk in the top notes, followed by that luscious coconut, vanilla, and sweet heart, all resting on a base of white musk, tonka bean, and benzoin – it's a symphony of deliciousness. This isn't just another sweet fragrance; it has a distinct character that sets it apart. I'm already thinking about all the beautiful scent combinations I can create with it. It’s a definite 1000/10 in my book, just as the image suggested! Truly a gem for any fragrance lover's collection.
