I love that fall is coming but I will be wearing mango hour year round idc idc 😮💨🤷🏾♀️😂. It’s back up bottle worthy to me.
Is it just me or are all the parfum versions better than the rest of the flankers for these designer perfumes ?!
IMO D & G should have put out My devotion parfum intense as their OG . I do not like the OG my devotion. As a love of pear fragrances and a side eyer of floral fragrances I absolutely love My devotion parfum intense . I knew I had to give my devotion another chance when I heard this flanker was pear prominent.
... Read moreI've been on a mission to find truly captivating scents, and sometimes, the biggest surprises come from unexpected places—like a flanker outperforming the original. That's exactly what happened when I gave Dolce & Gabbana My Devotion Parfum Intense a try. Let me tell you, if you're a fan of elegant, gourmand scents with a prominent fruit note, this one is a true gem.
From the very first spray, My Devotion Parfum Intense captivated me with its vibrant and juicy opening. The top notes of Pear Blossom and Blackcurrant create a delightful, almost effervescent sweetness. It's not just any pear; it's the rich, slightly honeyed aroma of a perfectly ripe pear, beautifully complemented by the subtle tartness of blackcurrant. This combination gives it a fresh, inviting quality that instantly lifts my mood. It feels incredibly 'fruity' and joyful without being juvenile.
As the fragrance settles, the heart note of Peony emerges. Now, I'm usually cautious with florals, but in this composition, the peony is handled with such grace. It provides a soft, delicate 'floral' backbone that balances the initial fruitiness, preventing it from becoming overly sweet. It adds a touch of sophisticated femininity, making the scent feel more refined and versatile for various occasions. It’s not a heavy, in-your-face floral; instead, it's a gentle whisper that enhances the overall harmony.
But the real magic for me happens in the dry down, where the Madagascar Vanilla truly shines. This isn't your average sugary vanilla; it's a creamy, warm, and deeply comforting vanilla that weaves seamlessly with the lingering pear and a hint of musk. This 'sweet' and inviting 'gourmand' base gives the fragrance incredible depth and longevity. It feels like a warm hug, making it perfect for cozy evenings or when I just want to feel wrapped in something beautiful. The way the pear and vanilla intertwine as it dries down is simply divine, leaving a soft, alluring trail.
Compared to the original My Devotion, which I personally didn't connect with, the Parfum Intense version feels like a complete masterpiece. It’s as if the creators, including Olivier Cresp, truly perfected the vision with this iteration. The balance of 'sweet,' 'floral,' 'fruity,' and 'gourmand' elements is just right, creating a scent that is both alluring and comforting. I've found that it lasts beautifully on my skin for hours, projecting just enough to be noticed without overwhelming. I often get compliments when I wear it, which is always a bonus!
If you're considering adding a new fragrance to your collection, especially if you appreciate 'pear fragrances' or scents that blend fruitiness with a sophisticated gourmand dry down, I highly recommend seeking out My Devotion Parfum Intense. Don't let a past experience with the original deter you; this flanker truly deserves a chance to impress. Try it on your skin, live with it for a day, and I bet you'll fall in love with its unique charm. For me, it's definitely a 'backup bottle worthy' scent that I’ll be reaching for constantly.
