Taking some breakup advice and got a facial 🧖🏽♀️
Apparently, the first thing women want to do after they feel their feelings post break up is have an instant glow up.
I just turned 28 in August, so of course I already treated myself to a spa day, hair appointment and mani/pedi. But literally after I came back from my family vacation, my world turned upside down and I feel like I did none of that..
I spoke with my doctor and, according to them, my cortisol levels are extremely high, causing my face to break out more.
So, I decided that I should book a facial at Lifetime and try to get my self back together. The experience was a 10 out of 10 and I’m so glad I did it.
I am going to continue to fill my own cup to fill this void. if you are going through a break up, follow me and let’s ride this wave together.
It's true what they say about breakups – they can really throw your body and mind out of whack. My experience with high cortisol leading to breakouts was a huge wake-up call that self-care isn't just a luxury, it's a necessity, especially when you're navigating heartbreak. That 'post-breakup facial' was just the beginning for me, and I've learned so much about how to truly cleanse myself and foster personal growth during this challenging time. A 'glow-up' isn't just about looking good; it's about feeling good from the inside out. To maintain that radiant feeling and keep my skin happy, I've started incorporating a more consistent skincare routine. For anyone else dealing with stress-induced skin issues, gentle yet effective products are key. I've found that a hydrating cleanser, a vitamin C serum for brightness, and a good moisturizer are non-negotiables. Don't forget sunscreen daily! Occasional at-home masks, especially those with calming ingredients like hyaluronic acid or ceramides, can also mimic that spa-like feeling and help with skin recovery. Think of it as investing in your skin's resilience, just like you're investing in your emotional resilience. Beyond just topical treatments, a true post-breakup cleanse involves nurturing your whole being. I've been exploring different ways to relax and recharge, much like you'd find in a serene spa setting. From calming essential oil diffusers to creating a peaceful meditation corner, these small changes can make a huge difference. Taking long, warm baths with Epsom salts, listening to soothing music, or even just spending time in nature have become my go-to methods for finding inner peace. It's about finding your own 'psyche dream spa' right at home. The idea of 'relationship growth after skin peeling' really resonates with me. Just as a facial can shed old skin cells to reveal a fresher layer underneath, a breakup forces you to shed old habits and ways of thinking to emerge stronger and more self-aware. It's a painful process, but it's also an opportunity for incredible personal development. This journey of self-discovery has been incredibly empowering. And remember, you don't have to go through this alone. While my facial was a solo retreat, leaning on friends and sharing experiences can be incredibly healing. Sometimes, a 'good friend takes facial' moment can be simply a friend lending an ear or encouraging you to treat yourself. It’s all part of filling your own cup and navigating this wave together. What's your favorite self-care ritual after a tough time? I'd love to hear it!
