What happens to mitochondria with age?

5/15 Edited to

... Read moreMitochondria are often referred to as the powerhouses of the cell because of their critical role in converting nutrients into ATP, the primary energy currency that powers cellular activities. As we age, numerous biological changes affect mitochondrial function, causing a decline in energy production efficiency. From my personal experience and research, this reduction in mitochondrial efficiency is not just a biochemical curiosity but can manifest as increased fatigue, slower recovery from exertion, and even contribute to age-related diseases. The reasons behind this decline include accumulated mitochondrial DNA damage due to oxidative stress, reduced biogenesis (the process by which new mitochondria are formed), and impaired dynamics such as fusion and fission that maintain mitochondrial quality. Interestingly, recent studies suggest that lifestyle choices, such as regular exercise and dietary interventions like intermittent fasting, can help support mitochondrial health and slow down this decline. Exercise stimulates mitochondrial biogenesis and improves their function, while certain nutritional supplements, including antioxidants and compounds like Coenzyme Q10, may protect mitochondria from oxidative damage. Understanding these changes can empower individuals to adopt habits that sustain mitochondrial efficiency, thereby supporting better energy levels and healthier aging. Awareness of how energy production becomes less efficient with age highlights the importance of proactive health measures tailored toward mitochondrial wellness.

NMN are greater than NAD Injections...
If you want more energy, you have to fix it at the cell level. Aging happens in cliffs, not slowly, and that drop is tied to falling NAD inside your cells. Everyone’s injecting NAD right now, but NAD doesn’t easily get into cells. Your cells are designed to take in NMN, which converts directly
