Doom scrolling lead you here

2024/10/23 Edited to

... Read moreHave you ever found yourself endlessly scrolling, feeling a bit numb, and then BAM! Something truly unique pops up? That's exactly how I hope people discover my art. It's wild how the algorithm can sometimes shift from endless news feeds to showcasing incredible creations from small businesses like mine. Many of us spend so much time in what some call 'scrolletics' – that almost automatic, rhythmic movement of scrolling through feeds. Instead of letting it lead to doom and gloom, I love thinking about how we can make this habit more joyful and enriching. For me, that often means actively seeking out creators, artisans, and fellow small business owners. It’s truly a POV moment when you stumble upon something handmade and heartfelt amidst the digital noise. That’s why I pour so much love into my ceramics and pottery. Each mug, every little Sonny Angel inspired trinket, and even my larger decorative pieces are crafted by hand, right here in my small studio. It's not just 'my art,' it's a piece of my passion that I hope brings a smile to your face. When you discover and support independent artists, you're not just buying a product; you're investing in a dream, a craft, and often, a whole lot of soul. There's a tangible difference between mass-produced items and unique, handcrafted ceramics. The imperfections tell a story, the glaze has a personality, and the overall feel is just... different. It's a personal connection that makes your home feel more uniquely 'you.' I often get asked about my process. Starting with a lump of clay, shaping it, watching it transform on the wheel, then the magic of the kiln and the vibrant glazes – it's a journey. Pottery is such a meditative practice for me, and I find so much joy in creating pieces that will live in someone's home, bringing a touch of handmade warmth to their everyday life. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that someone’s ‘scrolletics’ session led them to discover something that resonates with them, something they might cherish for years to come. So next time you're scrolling, remember there's a whole world of incredible artists waiting for you to find them and support 'my art'!
