But lately, I've been on a journey to redefine what true strength actually means, and it's been incredibly liberating. It started with small observations, like realizing that even the most seemingly unbreakable people I knew had moments where a simple act of kindness, like a comforting word or a gentle touch, could completely shift their demeanor. It made me think of that quote, 'Even a gangster like me needs a forehead kiss sometimes.' It’s a powerful reminder that beneath the bravest exterior, there's always a heart that yearns for connection and tenderness. We spend so much energy building walls, when often, the most profound strength comes from allowing them to come down, even just a little. So, how do we 'meet those who feel deeply' when we ourselves might be struggling to acknowledge our own depth? It starts with self-compassion. Instead of pushing away those quiet aches or moments of longing, try to lean into them. Acknowledge that it's okay to desire comfort, to crave a moment of peace, or to simply let go of the pressure to be 'on' all the time.
