Thumbprint cookies
1 cup butter, softened
2/3 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
1/4 tsp salt
2 cups flour (add it slowly, you may need a little more or a little less. The dough should come together and not be super sticky)
Jam - I like to use raspberry or strawberry jam
Make dough. Scoop and shape into balls then use your finger to press heart shaped prints into the dough balls.
Cover and chill for at least 4 hours in the fridge or at least 2 hours in the freezer.
Fill cookie’s thumbprints with jam.
Bake at 350F for 13-15 minutes, until bottoms are lightly golden brown.
Allow to cool and drizzle with icing- if you desire.
