๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Grief isnโ€™t a straight line. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐ŸŒธ

Before I experienced loss, I thought grief moved from one stage to the next.

Denial.

Anger.

Bargaining.

Depression.

Acceptance.

But now I knowโ€ฆ

Grief is all of those things, sometimes all in the same day.

Itโ€™s laughing at a memory and crying five minutes later.

Itโ€™s hearing a song and suddenly feeling like your heart is breaking all over again.

Itโ€™s missing someone in ordinary moments that no one else notices.

Tomorrow marks one month since my dad went to be with the Lord, and Iโ€™m learning there isnโ€™t a โ€œrightโ€ way to grieve.

Some days I feel strong.

Some days I donโ€™t.

And I think thatโ€™s okay.

What keeps me going is knowing that God isnโ€™t asking me to hide my painโ€”Heโ€™s asking me to bring it to Him. He sits with us in our sorrow, catches every tear, and promises that one day grief will be no more. ๐Ÿค

โ€œThe Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.โ€ โ€” Psalm 34:18 ๐Ÿ“–

If youโ€™re grieving today, whether your loss happened yesterday or years ago, please know this:

โค๏ธ Youโ€™re not weak.

โค๏ธ Youโ€™re not โ€œbehind.โ€

โค๏ธ Youโ€™re not grieving wrong.

Youโ€™re deeply loved, and God is walking through every step with you. One day at a time. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐ŸŒท

... Read moreGrief often surprises us with its unpredictable nature. While many expect a neat progression through denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance, real experiences show us that grief is much more varied and complex. It can come in waves, with moments of intense sadness interrupted by laughter, memories, and even relief. This makes the journey deeply personal and non-linear. One crucial insight Iโ€™ve learned is that grief manifests in physical and emotional ways that can be exhausting. From feelings of overwhelming loneliness and secondary anger to anxiety about the future and confusion over identity, grief touches every aspect of our being. Sometimes, triggers arrive unexpectedlyโ€”a song, a familiar place, or a simple momentโ€”that rekindle intense feelings. Recognizing there is no 'right way' to grieve is liberating. Itโ€™s okay to have good days and bad days, days of strength and days of vulnerability. This acceptance helps reduce the pressure many feel to 'move on' or grieve on a timetable. Instead, being gentle with yourself and allowing your feelings to flow naturally honors the process. Faith can offer immense comfort during grief. The belief that God is near, listens to our pain, and carries us through sorrow is a powerful source of hope. Scriptures such as Psalm 34:18 remind the brokenhearted that they are not alone and that healing will come in time. For anyone walking through grief, know that your journey is unique and valid. Sharing your experience, whether through writing, support groups, or prayer, can foster connection and healing. Remember, grief is not a linear path but an ongoing journey shaped by love, loss, and growth, one day at a time.
