Garden season 🪴

🪴👩‍🌾Time to start preparing the garden! This year I’m creating some habitat for the birds and small animals that like to hang in my garden 🪴🦉🐇🐸👩‍🌾

... Read moreStarting a garden that supports local wildlife can transform your outdoor space into a thriving oasis. I recently began planting various seeds like sunflower, tomato, eggplant, cucumber, and lavender—plants that not only beautify but also provide food and shelter for birds and small animals like rabbits and frogs. From my experience, incorporating native plants such as Shasta daisies and lavender helps attract beneficial insects and pollinators, which are essential for a healthy ecosystem. Additionally, I planted sunflower seeds from Dollar Tree, which quickly sprouted into vibrant blooms, creating perches for birds and shade for smaller creatures. To make your garden more inviting, consider adding water sources like shallow bowls or small ponds, ensuring animals have hydration spots. Mulching around plants preserves moisture and provides hiding spots for ground-dwelling insects and amphibians. One tip I found helpful is to avoid pesticides and chemicals, favoring organic methods to protect the birds and insects. Also, planting in clusters attracts more wildlife compared to scattered individual plants. Overall, preparing a garden this season by focusing on diverse, wildlife-supporting plants can enhance the natural balance, providing a sanctuary for local fauna and a beautiful environment for you to enjoy.
