How to Survive FALLING Without a Parachute in GTA 5 😳✈️

Hey fellow GTA 5 players! I remember when I first started playing, falling from a high building or a stolen plane was always a guaranteed splat. I wasted so much time wondering, 'How do I even put on a parachute in GTA 5?' It seemed simple, but sometimes the game doesn't explicitly tell you everything, right? Well, after countless jumps (and a few embarrassing face-plants), I've figured out the ins and outs, and I'm here to share my personal guide so you can master parachute deployment too! First things first, you actually need a parachute! You can't just magically sprout one. The easiest way to get one is to buy it from Ammu-Nation. Just head to any Ammu-Nation store on the map, walk up to the counter, and you'll usually find the parachute available for purchase. It's a small investment, but trust me, it’s worth every penny when you’re plummeting towards the ground at terminal velocity. Once you’ve bought it, it’s automatically added to your inventory. You can also pick them up in certain missions or find them at high points like specific helipads or mountain peaks, but buying is the most reliable method for sure. Now that you own one, how do you equip it? This is where some players get confused. In GTA 5, your parachute isn't something you select like a weapon from a weapon wheel. Instead, it’s an item that automatically equips to your character's back when you're in a situation where you might need it, specifically when you exit a flying vehicle at altitude, or jump from a very high point. You’ll see it appear as a backpack. If you want to check if you have one equipped while on the ground, you can usually see it if you switch to a third-person view. It’s pretty intuitive once you get used to it – the game generally knows when you’ll need it. The most crucial part: deploying it. This is where timing is everything. Once you're falling from a significant height, you'll see a prompt on your screen (usually in the bottom right corner) indicating which button to press. On PlayStation, it's typically the 'X' button, and on Xbox, it's the 'A' button. For PC players, it's usually the 'F' key by default. Don't wait until the last second, or you'll become street pizza! I usually try to deploy it when I feel like I have enough air to steer but not so high that I'm just floating forever. You can actually cut your parachute (usually by pressing the same deploy button again or a specific action button) if you misjudge the landing or want to free-fall for a bit longer, but be careful not to cut it too late! Steering and landing are the final pieces of the puzzle. While under canopy, you can use your left analog stick (or WASD keys on PC) to steer your character. Pulling back on the stick (or 'S' key) will slow your descent and move you forward, while pushing forward (or 'W' key) will speed up your descent. You can also press the left and right triggers (or 'A' and 'D' keys) to turn sharply. My best advice for landing? Aim for an open, flat area. Try to come in gently, pulling back slightly just before you touch down. A smooth landing not only looks cool but also prevents you from losing a chunk of health or stumbling. I’ve definitely had my share of rough landings, sliding into traffic or bouncing off a lamppost, so practice makes perfect! Safe skies, fellow GTA V enthusiasts!
