Healing attachment wounds one page at a time. 📚☕️

Currently reading: Anxious Attachment Workbook

One thing I’m learning so far:

anxious attachment and avoidant attachment can both be coping strategies for emotional safety.

One person may seek reassurance and closeness.

Another may withdraw and create distance.

Different behaviors… but often the same fear underneath it all: disconnection. 📚☕️

... Read moreFrom my experience diving into the Anxious Attachment Workbook, I've realized that recognizing the subtle differences between anxious and avoidant attachment styles is crucial for personal growth and healthier relationships. Anxious attachment often manifests as a deep craving for reassurance and closeness, which can feel overwhelming both for the person experiencing it and their loved ones. On the other hand, avoidant attachment tends to create emotional distance by keeping feelings guarded and suppressing vulnerability. What really resonated with me is how both styles share a common root fear — the fear of disconnection. This commonality helps in bridging understanding across different relationship behaviors. A key step I found useful was learning to gently acknowledge these fears without judgment and allowing space for healing gradually, one small insight at a time. The workbook guides you through practical exercises designed to transform these relationship fears into confidence and security. By working through prompts and reflections, I started noticing patterns in my emotional responses and began shifting away from reactive behaviors to more mindful choices. Incorporating daily reading sessions with a comforting environment, like a warm cup of coffee by my side, made the process feel nurturing rather than daunting. It's empowering to realize that healing attachment wounds is a journey that unfolds page by page, helping you build stronger, more secure connections with yourself and others over time.
