Trash into Art ✨
I always end up chucking these little blue cards that come with my photo paper, but it's such nice paper! I felt so bad! So now I'm using them as little canvases for practice.
🙃 Turned out better than I expected but also the paint pens I used for the trees don't have fine tips for details so they are definitely rougher than I wanted.
🎨Reference: from the Library of Congress. Only could see a low res version since it's a newer piece done for the National Parks. (hopefully they don't mind me using it for a little practice)
🖌️ Tools: sharpie and shuttle art acrylic paint pens
Upcycling is a powerful way to creatively reuse materials, and transforming trash into art is an environmentally friendly trend that’s gaining popularity. Many artists are now embracing this practice to make unique pieces while promoting sustainability. Using unwanted items like old cards, paper, and various crafting supplies, creatives can explore new artistic expressions. For instance, ZINK photo paper, often discarded, can be repurposed into colorful canvases for practice. With tools like acrylic paint pens and sharpies, you can easily create stunning landscape art or abstract designs. By starting small with your own projects, you can refine your technique and discover your style. Inspiration can also come from classic references like pieces from the Library of Congress or popular locations like Mount Rainier National Park, which can provide both aesthetic and contextual backgrounds for your work. Online communities often share similar projects, offering tips and showcasing finished artworks. Engaging in such creative endeavors not only supports personal expression but also champions a sustainable approach to art-making. Embrace the challenge to turn your trash into art and contribute to a more sustainable artistic movement!
