Goodnotes + Apple Calendar = Productivity ✨

I’ve tried so many productivity apps… and always fell off 😅

Until I made this simple switch: I now use Goodnotes for planning & journaling and Apple Calendar for time-blocking & quick reminders — and it’s been a game-changer for my focus, memory, and time management 🧠💡

Here’s how I use them together:

📔 Goodnotes is where I brain-dump everything — to-do lists, routines, class notes, even vision boards! I use a digital planner inside the app that makes planning feel ✨fun✨ and actually motivating.

🗓️ Apple Calendar keeps my day structured. I color-code my schedule by category (work, personal, content, etc.) and set alerts so I actually stick to it 😂

💡 When I’m out or on the go, I use Apple Calendar to quickly add events or reminders — like a last-minute meeting, content idea, or errand — then later, I’ll transfer it into Goodnotes when I’m planning more intentionally. It’s the perfect combo of fast + thoughtful 💕

Since syncing them into my daily routine: ✅ I never miss important dates

✅ I check off more tasks than ever

✅ I feel way less scattered

It’s not about having every app — it’s about using the right ones for you. These two keep me focused and feeling cute while doing it 💅💕

... Read moreOkay, so you're looking for the perfect 'planner for MacBook,' right? I totally get it! For years, I scrolled through endless apps, hoping to find that one magical solution to keep my life together. Many promised the world, but none quite clicked until I refined my system using Goodnotes and Apple Calendar. If you're a MacBook user like me, this combo isn't just about apps; it's about creating a seamless digital workspace that truly works. When I first started using Goodnotes on my laptop, I quickly realized its potential went way beyond just note-taking. The OCR mentions a 'Goodnotes digital planner' with 'monthly goals, to-do lists, and notes,' and that's exactly where the magic happens for me. Instead of just brain-dumping, I’ve set up custom digital planner templates within Goodnotes that mirror my physical planners from years ago. This means I have dedicated sections for my weekly overviews, habit trackers, and even detailed project breakdowns. Typing notes directly onto my MacBook with the keyboard is so much faster than writing on an iPad screen for lengthy entries, though I still love my iPad for quick sketches or annotating PDFs. I can easily reference past notes or link them to new pages, making it a comprehensive knowledge hub. It’s like having an entire binder of information at my fingertips, perfectly organized for my 'MacBook planner' needs. Then there's Apple Calendar. While the main article touches on time-blocking, I want to emphasize how powerful it is on a MacBook for a broader view. The OCR highlighted 'color-coded events and reminders,' and this is crucial. On my MacBook's larger screen, I can have multiple calendars open simultaneously – one for work, one for personal errands, one for content creation. This visual separation, thanks to the color-coding, instantly tells me what category my day is leaning towards. I use it to proactively schedule 'focus blocks' for deep work, treating them like unmissable appointments. What's more, linking it directly to my Mail and Reminders apps on my MacBook means that if I get an email about an upcoming event, I can add it to my calendar with just a click. It integrates so naturally into the Apple ecosystem that it feels less like an app and more like an extension of my daily thought process. My personal workflow for integrating them is simple yet effective. When a quick reminder or a new meeting pops up, it goes straight into Apple Calendar. It’s fast and immediate. But when I sit down for my weekly planning session, typically on my MacBook, I open my Goodnotes digital planner. I review what’s in my Apple Calendar for the upcoming week and then transfer those key events and tasks into my Goodnotes planner. This is where I break down larger tasks into smaller, actionable 'to-do lists' and align them with my 'monthly goals.' For example, a "meeting" in Calendar becomes "Prepare presentation for meeting" and "Follow up on action items" in Goodnotes. It transforms fleeting appointments into strategic actions. This two-step process ensures that my schedule is always up-to-date and my planning is intentional and detailed. For anyone searching for a reliable 'Goodnotes MacBook' workflow or a versatile 'planner for MacBook,' I truly believe this combination offers the best of both worlds: the structured efficiency of a calendar app for immediate scheduling and the boundless flexibility of a digital notebook for deep planning and reflection. It’s helped me stay on top of everything without feeling overwhelmed, and I hope it helps you too!
