✨ This or That ☀️ Comparing Glow/Dewy serums (as a Glossier Employee)

Yellow!

🥰Welcome or welcome back! I’m a Glossier employee, bringing you honest bye or buy content amongst other things. I want to help you find the product that is right for you.

🥺I got the e.l.f. halo glow liquid filter for my college gala and quickly found this at Target. It has great coverage, nice natural glow, and makes me feel sun-kissed. I will definitely say I’m a heavy handed person when it comes to any sort of full/medium coverage product so I’ve had to learn self control (which has saved me money for sure). It also mimics Glossier’s normal Futuredew Serum, which can be mixed into your daily lotion, foundation, sunscreen etc!

🧚🏽‍♀️The Futuredew Solid from Glossier is the roller form of our normal Futuredew serum. My friend uses her normal Futuredew as a highlighter on days that she wants a more natural look without much effort. The application for the Futuredew solid allows me to have more control over how much I use and I can massage it into my skin without using a beauty blender. This tends to last longer than the e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter and since it only comes in one color, it looks good on every skin tone and does not require shade matching. It travels well and easily fits in my purses.

🌸Both are fabulous but I am going to go with the Futuredew Solid. I don’t think that e.l.f. has a solid form of the Halo Glow Liquid Filter so that was my primary reason for swaying towards the Futuredew Solid. compared to the normal Futuredew serum, I’d say they’re similar but the Halo Glow Liquid Filter is thicker (not necessarily in a bad way but does require more blending). In terms of price, if you’re looking for a great cheaper alternative to the Futuredew Serum, go with the e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter!

🎀Do you use any of these products? Are you more of a matte finish or dewy finish girly? Let me know and let’s be sisters! 🎀

... Read moreHey glow-getters! 👋 So many of you asked for a deeper dive into my thoughts on the e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter versus the Glossier Futuredew Solid, especially after my initial 'this or that' post. Since both aim for that coveted dewy, radiant look, but come at different price points and formats, I wanted to share more of my real-life experience using them in my daily routine. Let's talk about application first, because this is where they truly diverge. The e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter, priced at a super accessible $15 USD, is a liquid, often compared to high-end glow enhancers. When I use it, I find it offers beautiful light-to-medium coverage, almost like a tinted moisturizer but with a much more luminous finish. Because it's a liquid, you can easily mix it into your foundation, moisturizer, or even sunscreen for an all-over glow. I’ve noticed it helps my skin look more even-toned and cancels out some redness, giving that 'my skin but better' vibe. However, because it is thicker than some comparable serums, I do find myself needing to blend it out a bit more thoroughly, either with my fingers or a damp sponge, to avoid any streaking. The shade matching aspect is also something to consider here – while it's forgiving, picking the right shade is key to achieving that seamless, sun-kissed look without looking off. On the flip side, we have the Glossier Futuredew Solid, which comes in at $26 USD. This product is a stick, making its controlled application a dream, especially for someone like me who sometimes goes overboard with liquids! I love that I can swipe it directly onto the high points of my face – cheekbones, brow bone, Cupid's bow – and then just tap it in with my fingertips. No beauty blender needed, which is a huge plus for on-the-go use or when I'm in a rush. It doesn't offer any coverage, as it’s purely a highlighter/glow balm, but it imparts the most beautiful, glassy, 'wet look' sheen. It feels incredibly lightweight and melts into the skin, making it seem like the glow is coming from within. The fact that it’s a universal shade is brilliant; it truly adapts to every skin tone without leaving a weird cast. When it comes to longevity, both perform well, but in different ways. The e.l.f. Halo Glow, when used as an all-over base, tends to stay put for a good 6-8 hours on my combination skin, though I might notice a little more dewiness (read: oiliness) in my T-zone by the end of the day. The Glossier Futuredew Solid, while offering a more intense initial highlight, feels like it melts beautifully into the skin over time, maintaining a subtle luminosity. If I’m looking for something that will truly last through a long day or event, I might layer the Futuredew Solid over a more matte-setting foundation for a contrast that holds up, or use the Halo Glow lightly for an overall diffused radiance that doesn't vanish. For my fellow oily skin types, a word of caution: both are designed for glow, so proper skin prep (mattifying primer in oily areas) is your friend. Dry skin types will absolutely adore either, but especially the hydrating feel of the Futuredew Solid. If you're someone who likes a bit of coverage with your glow, e.l.f. is your pick. If you want pure, unadulterated, precise radiance, Glossier is it. Ultimately, my decision often comes down to the look I'm going for and my budget. The e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter offers fantastic value at $15 USD for a product that gives both glow and light coverage, making it a stellar daily base or mixer. Its accessibility at stores like Target is also a huge bonus. The Glossier Futuredew Solid, at $26 USD, is a splurge for a highlighter, but its unique solid format, effortless application, and universal appeal make it a luxurious treat that delivers an unparalleled dewy finish. I keep both in my rotation because sometimes I want an all-over luminous base, and sometimes I just want to swipe on a perfect, glassy highlight. They complement each other beautifully, proving that you don't always have to choose just one to achieve your glow goals!

Stop chasing someone else’s version of success. When you define your own values, you set your own scorecard. Your goals don’t need to look like theirs. They just need to align with what matters most to you. The moment you measure your life by your values, comparison loses its grip. #healing
