I’ve been on a nutrition journey…

Studying for my ISSA nutrition coach certification to add to my toolbelt of skills on how to stay holistically healthy! I have so many of my own tips and tricks but it’s awesome to learn the deeper side of nutrition. I also wanted to share simple meals that I have stayed consistent in eating. They are not glamorous and some may say they are pretty boring haha but for me they home stay sharp. Let me know your thoughts! #nutritioncoach #lunchideas #dinnerideas #snacks #healthyfood

... Read moreEmbarking on the ISSA nutrition coach certification has truly transformed how I approach wellness. Beyond the standard tips I’ve always followed, diving deep into nutritional science has given me a fresh perspective on how food impacts not just the body, but mental clarity and overall wellbeing. One of the biggest takeaways from my studies is the power of consistency. While my meals might seem plain or even boring to some, the routine of eating balanced, nutrient-dense foods has been crucial for maintaining energy and focus throughout the day. For example, I often incorporate a balsamic vinaigrette made with Himalayan pink salt to add flavor without compromising health benefits—a small but effective habit. Training in jiujitsu, weightlifting, and regular cardio like running or jogging complements my nutrition efforts. The synergy between exercise and diet helps me sustain my fitness goals and keeps me feeling agile and strong. This holistic approach, combining nourishment with physical activity, is a lifestyle choice that anyone can adapt to their needs. If you’re on a similar journey or considering one, I suggest focusing on simple meal prep strategies. Don’t worry about glitz or glam; prioritize meals that nurture your body and fit your schedule. I find that preparing staple meals in advance prevents last-minute unhealthy choices and promotes mindfulness around eating. In sharing these insights, I hope to encourage more people to explore nutrition beyond the surface level. Whether you’re a beginner or simply looking to refine your habits, certification programs like ISSA’s can empower you with knowledge and confidence. And remember, it’s perfectly okay to keep meals simple — the key is to stay consistent and enjoy the process.

I had open heart quintuple bypass surgery 5 years ago and am trying to stay on a healthy stable diet. I also workout regularly and typically do a 80 to 100 minute cardio workout every other day. I would live to checkout some of your recipes or remedies. Anything to lower my BP naturally? I hate pharmaceuticals!
